What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

2021 Bassermann - Jordan Riesling Trocken
2021 Ochota Barrels ‘Green Room’ Grenache McClaren Vale

They are focused on French wines, but got a decent selection of other things as well. Just received a package from them yesterday :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll be in Epernay next week - any advice you’d be willing to share regarding shops? I checked the Tourism section as well.

I had been to this store in October and found that to be a little odd. The shop owner was very friendly though. Very kindly sold me a bottle of Selosse and some coteaux champenois

Not too sure really. 520 has a decent selection - it would be amazing if everything in the shelf was available but its not… Thats the only place I’ve been in recent years.

In Reims Caves du Forums and Au Bon Manger.

520 has a great selection and they even helped me out with VAT forms. What you get might depend on the shop owner that day as, as previously mentioned, a lot of bottles displayed are ‘unavailable’ (though I get the sense that’s not 100% true).

Caves du forum in Reims is awesome. Caves des sacres right by the cathedral also has the more allocated bottles (Ulysse Collin, etc) but they may make you by an assorted 6 pack to get them.

Lastly - La Cave Colbert was worth a visit as they were pouring Doyard to taste when I dropped by. Extremely friendly people too

Some recent auction purchases. Now comes the real struggle of trying to keep my hands off of these. Guess I have to bury them down as deep as possible in the cellar…
