What de Négoce wine are you drinking tonight?

OG N.30 2018 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon

With exactly 33 months in the bottle & roughly 2 hours in the decanter.
This smooth elegant Atlas Peak CS, seems to have arrived in Nirvana!
Rich & Plush & restrained Power emanate to fill the senses.
This wine screams “drink me up”!! Easy to guzzle, so, Nothing remains for a Day 2 sampling.
This will likely age well for many more years. The remaining 6 bottles will be disappearing over the next 2-3 years, showing uncommon restraint on my part??
Triple Yum :wine_glass::wine_glass::wine_glass:!!! Cheers!

OG Lot 345 Clare Valley 2022 Riesling / I’m going make this quick and easy, ~ STUNNING (bright taste, perfect light color, ever so slight citrus mouth feel, long finish and all this for $9!). A+

Agree that #345 is just delicious and perfect as a starter, or with lighter/spicier foods. I think that this is WAAAAY better than #63 Riesling.

Had my first N.30 a couple of nights ago. Approx. 4 hour decant. Your notes are spot on. Terrific stuff.

PSA make sure if you store your whites/rose in the fridge to let them warm up for a bit before drinking them. They taste much better just slightly chilled, not ice cold!

On another note, 317 is a very nice rose. Too bad it sold out already.

Thanks Bert!
OK, While I did not get this at the T#1 price of $192/cs.
Wow, such a great wine for only $16/bottle plus $2.50 shipping. GREAT deal!!
The higher prices that came later were still a very great bargain.
Triple QPR :moneybag: :heavy_dollar_sign: :money_with_wings:

I also love how the Tito’s is being properly decanted and how you’re letting the Michelob Ultra breathe a bit before consumption. Agree 100% that it’s all in the preparation

Unfortunately there are always a few people out there with the rational that 2 glasses of wine have “very high calories”, yet 12 michelob ultras and equal amounts of vodka keep you skinny…

Thanks for the note! 30 was a black hole a year ago, glad to hear its getting there!

**Lot 30 2018 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon **
97 Points and WINE OF THE YEAR at 2021 Sommelier Challenge International.

Did myself a favor awhile back and picked up a case on a sale Cameron had for this. My first bottle was the best de Negoce wine I’ve had and still is today.

Cheers. Tim

Lot 17, 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

This was a bit tangy/sour on the first night so I decided to re-cork and try again the following night. Day 2 was still acidic, sour, tangy for the first little bit but then eventually that resolved and was a pretty decent cab sav. I paid $26.30 for a bottle and I’d say that was a good price. I might have guessed it sold for 35-40. I got a little blackberry and some muted cherry, a little cigar/leather type of thing. Overall it was nice Monday night wine. I guess I’d call this my first Denegoce success, but it’s no longer for sale. I’d give it 14/20

OG No. 2 Cabernet Napa Valley.
This one is finally coming around after years of being pretty shut down. Needs some air (better on day two), but evolving into a really interesting and pretty serious Cabernet.

Scott, I admire the restraint. I don’t think I can possibly hold off that long on this beautiful cab. After seeing the way you eat I’m questioning my ribeye consumption. May have to take a loan to keep up but I 'm willing.:joy:

Ha! Thanks Mike!
I stock up when beef &/or wine goes on sale! i.e. choice grade tri-tip $3.99/# @ Von’s, starting tomorrow.:yum:
At our advanced age, we split a ribeye😢, and it’s enough. Split Artichokes & potatoes, etc….
Cut my tri tip in half, sometimes thirds. Just don’t eat as much as I used to. Inevitable?
FYI, I do NOT split my baba of vino. Greedy me.
I can only hold off on #30, due to the many other awesome dN’s stashed away. No restraint otherwise.
Cheers & Bon Appetite :wine_glass::yum::wine_glass::cut_of_meat::wine_glass:

Lot 244 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Creek

89/90. Very approachable now, with no decant, poured from the bottle.
Smooth & delicious. Nice oak, excellent Value. Gold medal in SF, this year.
The only surprise was that the one inch left in the corked, room temperature bottle was completely unaffected by all that air. Hmmmm……:face_with_monocle:
One Yum🍷

I hear ya. My music room is now filled from floor to ceiling ( almost). My 150 bottle refridg is splitting at the seams as is my non alcohol drinking wife who has asked me after the last 910 cases "so that’s enough, right? I haven 't even tasted 1/2 the wines I’ve stored plus have 6 cases in storage😵‍💫. Still, there are a few that I cannot stay away from. Sounds crazy but it’s so much fun.

This L 244 Dry Creek 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon was our last bottle opened while camping this past Friday-Tuesday. A $40(?) wine for $14 that we enjoyed. Nothing powerfully special to note other than subtle tasted layers. A nice Mon-Wed–Sat-Thurs-Fri-Tues-Sun wine. (B+) This outing was supplemented also with a L 229 Red Mountain Mourvedre/Syrah (A) and Australia’s outstanding L 345 Clare Valley 2022 Riesling (A+)

Tri-tip for $3.99? You are killing me! When I first moved to Georgia I could get tri-tip at Costco, in 10lb trimed packages. After a while, they only sold it in cases, like 40lbs untrimmed. That’s a bit much when all my friends were slow cooking pork. I sure miss Santa Maria style bbq!

I prefer to buy tri tip, untrimmed. I like to trim to about 3/8 inch fat cap.
Vacuum Seal it. Age for 17-28 days. Eat it your way then or freeze for later. :yum::yum::yum:
