What de Négoce wine are you drinking tonight?

Totally. I just got my rose’ of granache a couple of weeks ago and I keep going back for another addictive bottle every other day for lunch. Yummy

We revisited a bottle of 100 cab sauv last night. Previously I have thought this wine lacked acidity to give it some energy & to lift those (almost cloying) dark flavors. However, after a couple of hours in the decanter, our drinking plans changed & it was back in the bottle until the last night. Wow, what a difference. The acidity appeared & the wine was perfectly balanced & delicious. I have had young wines that were out of balance between the fruit & acidity & that has been corrected with additional aging. It’s new to me, however, that acidity can reveal itself with time.

I tried my third bottle of Lot 361 RRV Zinfindel a couple days ago. I’m curious to know if anyone else has tried this wine recently. I have not been able to drink the past couple of bottles. On day 1 after a decant of a couple of hours, it just tasted and smelled like Gorgonzola cheese. That dissipated by day 2, but it’s just not drinkable for me. It just seems very acidic and unpleasant. My wife said the same thing about the wine when I asked her what she thought of it.

Friday night crackers and Havarti dill cheese with N. 347 2022 Limestone Coast Sauvignon Blanc. This style of Sau Blanc really pairs well with the Havarti cheese. I’m getting more lemon and lime notes than last bottle. Finish is zippy and long. Another outstanding de Negoce white wine deal that over delivers at $89/case 1st Tranche price. Sure glad that I stocked up with 4 cases of this beauty.

Cheers, Tim

Has anyone tried dN 213 2019 cab? I’m thinking about breaking that out for the first of my six today or tomorrow. There is just one numeric review of 93 on cellar tracker without notes.

Also denegociants lists the guess as Macdonald but I have saved to my notes as Bell 337 clone.

I had 120 a few weeks back. I was drinking well and think it has the potential to be one of the better DN cabs- top 5%. The wine did need a long decant which may explain why I enjoyed it more than you seemed to. Very glad I got 2 cases on the Warehouse Moving Sale.

Macdonald, I have to hahaha a little to that guess.

Gave a 6-pack of wines (only 1 dN) to a friend for her retirement.
Of all the wines, the dN 100 was by far the best.
Of course it was…

Yes. Especially since cam recently announced he has never had Macdonald (and who knows if he was being serious or coy)

But actually I did open 213 about four hours ago for a decant. And I just came home and poured a little in a class to start to taste it. And I keep pouring a little more into the same glass because it’s so good. I’m going to take a leap and say 213 is the best dN Napa wine I’ve had so far (I’m comparing to 17,25,100, 143, 241, 274 , 300)…it’s perfectly integrated and smooth. Blackberries and floral tastes. I can actually taste the Rutherford dirt that people talk about…im in danger of drinking 3 glasses 1/4 glass at a time.

If I were to give a score id give a 94.

N.330. really nice explosive aroma and long length flavors. Needs several more years to develop, but so tempting to drink now with a good decant. 94pts

Thanks for the update on #200! I last tried one in March of 22 and it was much like your experience with the first bottle. Not great. Hopefully more time will do the trick but im not sure. I’ve actually been giving them away as casual gifts but will keep a few to see how they turn out down the road. Like you said, fingers crossed!

Good info. Trying to figure out when to have 200 shipped from LTS. Sounds like maybe 6 months from now might maximize the wine chance to be at its peak.

Perfect description, unfortunately. I’m not very good at describing what I taste, but this seems right on the money. I’ve tried 3-4 bottles. Wavering between trying to let it improve or just trying to drink it and get rid of it!

Isn’t #323 a 2020?
Uber-young Nebbiolo can often be sour and thin with just a wall of tannins. Bury it for 10 years, try again.

This was actually my first dN buy. Awesome QPR. I doubt Beethoven would have been inspired to write great symphonies about the profoundness of this wine, but it’s a great cellar defender and it drinks great right now.

[2019 de Négoce Cabernet Sauvignon OG N.192]

Dark opaque purple/ruby, young in color.
Nose is floral and herbal with touch of sweet tar, tobacco, cassis and oak. Palate is ripe, full bodied with dark fruit, savory herbs, very heavy on the oak with some astringency.
Finishes medium and somewhat straight forward and simple. Great QPR but not the most profound wine ever.

42 was very nice and after 2 hours was balanced and oak was prominent but not overly.

Same. N.192 was my gateway drug two years ago now. The concept of buying a case of untasted wine from an unknown producer sounded outlandish at the time. Quality was evident in the first sip… now half the celler is de Negoce. Cheers!

Mother’s Day dinner: Mexican theme. Ceviche and tuna tartar. Then smoked carnitas and grilled flank steak tacos.

3 wines: 133 chard with the fish appetizers. 211 cab (old reliable ) and second half of 213 from last night. All amazing as expected….133 was our first dN white and I think we are getting to the end of our case. It’s reliably crisp and paired perfectly with the fish.

211 is I very hardy wine that holds up to intense flavors and spices like Mexican food. It’s not elegant wine, just robust and hardy

  1. I maintain my statement from yesterday that it’s the best dN red I’ve had. Less robust than 211 but more integrated and interesting. Mostly ripe raspberries and blue berries but not so powerful that it doesn’t let the secondary floral and earthy notes shine through. Was equally good after 24 hours as it was after 4 hours. I have 5 more bottles that I plan to spread out for the next 5 yrs.
