It’s actually the perfect way to carry around his training treats from room to room.

Started with this crappy beer after an early evening, bike ride and some nasty ocean front crosswinds, I was wiped.

After I cooled down, decided I needed something to soothe my soul.

1998 Chateau Langoa Barton.

So in the zone.

How did you like it? I had the 2022 recently and found it had everything I was hoping for!

How was the VCC? I have a handful and have been tempted to open one.

It was a pleasure Lasse. I really enjoyed the wines.

It’s good, was hoping for a little more depth on the palate but still very tasty and fresh. Saved enough to check in over the next couple days to see if my opinion changes.

It was very good, youthful but not tight. Decanted about 3hrs ans then followed over 2. Consistent with other recent notes here.

My last of several bottles of the 2017 Carbonnieux Blanc. Enjoyed the wine every stop along the way of its development. This latest was extremely well balanced with all notes in harmony and nothing too loud. Paired well with our dinner haddock and lemon sauce. I had a leftover glass with a piece of Halloumi, which adjusted my taste buds to welcome a pleasant louder volume of the fruit.

1998 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Cascina Francia. Rarely have I wished a 750 were a magnum more.

I have a solo bottle of this, not sure why I am saving it? Sounds like it is drinking really well right now.

thnx

It was absolutely beautiful. Opened it late morning to slow ox, decanted at about 2, drank starting at 6. If I had to do it again (and I will with my 1 remaining bottle) I’d decant an hour earlier. A special bottle

Fonsalette 11 ready to drink, les Horées rosé vinous, red cherries :cherries: jumping out of the glass, Clément Minard, pure meunier expression, with 2 years dégorgement on it’s back, the wine is just sensational

2022 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc (awesome stuff)

A lovely mature Chianti. So good, ages so effortlessly, and still priced so darn fairly.

Pretty yuck storm has kept us indoors in sunny Wellington. The little brown building just right of the centre in the pic is the bus stop with my children inside waiting for the bus yesterday. Today is little better and the road, surprisingly, is closed, so early start to Friday drinks. LVCA Le Galant 2016 is imho NZs best Bordeaux blend year in year out. This one needs a couple of hours decant and will probably age gracefully for 5-10 more years. Today though it is smooth with layers of increasingly deep fruit, with a whiff of vanilla in the long after taste. Pomerol from Hawkes Bay. Lovely and just right for the weather

I’m always a little hesitant to open Gonon St. Joseph. I burned through too many 2010s thinking they were ready, only to find them still tightly shut. I haven’t touched my stash since a 375 a couple years ago hinted at a 30-year rule, double my usual 15. Maybe it’s time to face my demons and pull another cork.

Back from Italy :pensive:.

Château de Meursault Clos du Château 2021
Good Bourgogne Blanc but it’s priced above a typical Bourgogne Blanc. Nose of bosc pear, lemon, honeysuckle and a slight hint of lemon curd. The palate shows medium acidity with decent presence. The oak is more noticeable on the palate but it’s not out of place. Well made but missing texture (mâche) and length to make it a re-buy. Easy to drink though.
