It’s a really nice wine, I have had it twice in the last few months. More rounded than chiseled, but quite nice.
Really tasty wine! A little unknit and awkward to begin with but settles down with some air. Rose, cherries, and a fleeting hint of chocolate nibs. Perhaps not the most complex spätburgunder (or at least not the most complex Keller Spätburgunder) but very, very, very drinkable.
Good to hear, thank you for your notes. I have six bottles of this, I suppose another year of cellaring should bring it a little more together?
Yeah, I’d say a few years or some decent decanting time should do the job. Have a couple of cases myself and will wait another year before u open the next bottle.
@LasseK Asking as well: How was the Jamet CR 2021? I’m on the verge of pulling the trigger on a few.
It was fine.
But it didn’t have the instant young aromatic intensity of some vintages. Taste was pretty good though, and not disappointing like the 2008 vintage as an example. I wouldn’t be afraid to pull the trigger on a few myself, but they need some time. On a tight budget I might sit out this one.
popping tonight at Boka.
First taste of the 18. Given the great CT reviews this early in it’s youth, thought I’d jump in.
Giving it a 3 hour decant
Let us know your thoughts when you jump in. I had it last night and enjoyed it but I’ll keep my others for quite a bit before pulling another cork.
Was your post on 18,19,20 that lead me here.
Was going to pop a 16 but I’ve done that numerous times already

Lavender, dried blueberries, ripe blackberry, plum, and cacao nib on the nose. Very concentrated ripe blue and black fruit notes on the palate, but not overpowering or jammy in the slightest, with a nice intermingling of savory herbs and a touch of graphite and oak spice on the back end. Fresh on the palate with an impressively long mineral finish. This is a serious and brooding Dolinsek, with beautiful layers of depth and flavor, but still retains some fun character to it that I enjoy so much from this particular Bedrock cuvée.
I don’t know, it kinda bugs me.
I’ll admit . . . I hesitated to post the picture. I suspect we’ve got more than a few here who would like not to be reminded of this summer’s fun . . . .
Only offered every 17 years…
That may leave some fans . . . brooding
Bury them. and let them sleep…
turned out to be a 4+ hour decant as I pushed my rez back.
First taste was holy alcohol. Quickly settled down.
Loads of olive tepanade. white pepper wasn’t as up front as I’d like,
drank over the next 2 hours and just kept getting better and better.
it’s all there, just not integrated yet.
reagardless, it drank so easily and quickly
shoulda brought a mag
2020 Melville Donna’s Syrah
I really have to be in the mood for this one. It’s so distinct in a good or not so good way with a richness and profile I can’t explain except that it’s very much in your face and forward (I feel the same with most Melville reds to a lesser extent). The wine was great but I wish I opened something else. I’ll try the rest of the bottle that’s in a 375 sitting in the fridge in a few days.
