Patricia Green Cellars 2022 Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir. Popped and poured - unlike my 2021s (and older PGC Pinot Noir bottlings, zero visible sediment in this 2022 at this stage). If this bottle is at all representative of other 2022s to come, I’m going to be trying a lot of them this next year 
Had a bottle of that 2001 at Thanksgiving. Was indeed showing very well.

Checking in on Barolo for tonight. The nose on all four are amazing. Will let them slowly breath in bottle for a few hours now. Olek and Cascina Fontana are pure classic elegance without being too tannic. Love it!

Last night some 2021 Breton Franc de Pied. Loving this Loire vintage for Cab Franc. Quite bright fresh and savory.

Nothing grand, but with crunchy cabernet fruit and flavour without heaviness, this really hits the spot for lovers of southwest France.
I wanna hear about the odds man in… 2007 Macle! 
Nice wine. Enjoying these drier Germans. Still love the sweeter wines but diving deep into these trocken wines. Except I was talking with my hands and knocked off the last glass from the table and broke it. I hate breaking my Grassl’s!

Ok I know @A_So may say autolytic, sweet and simplistic - which sorta describes me as well - but this wine is quite showy today. Much more so than than the 08 DP Rose I had on Wednesday. Just flat out approachable and delicious. Rich white and yellow fruits, toasted and buttered croissants. Just lovely. (94 pts.)

Man this was so youthful, dark large scaled. Lovely black currant fruits showing thru the tannic robe. Needs another 10 years. Enjoyable but not really showing its best yet

The 96 (and 95 and 98) Bordeaux (classified growths and equivalents) are still so youthful nearly straight across the board. I grow impatient.
And I grow older at the same time!

Oddly enough, we just started on a bottle of 1996 Léoville Barton. The consensus is that it’s drinking just fine but still has a long road ahead. A wine I’m glad to have more of.
This follows a bottle of 2017 Domaine Servin Les Preuses Chablis that was showing very well.

2020 Donnhoff Reisling…just the basic gem ,not one of his vineyard specific bottlings…Delicious as always, stone fruits with peach flavors standing out, shared with my daughter Samantha and her husband Lee, after their two adorable rug rats were put to bed…

2015 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino
Decanted and left for four hours before first sip. Floral nose with leather and nuts. Lovely palate of ripe, dark cherries, assertive tannins but nothing unpleasant. Good acidity to be had which keeps everything together. Great wine at a good price point, should keep for years to come.

The 2007 was beautiful! So complex. Was fun to taste it next to Labet’s 2018 ‘sous voile’ chardonnay to get an idea about how much these types of wines actually evovle with age. Based on this wine, then I am pretty sure the Cotes du Jura wines from Macle are immortal.
I am very hungover. But out of ten wines (added a Dönnhoff at the end) every single wine showed amazingly. Six people and not a single drop left in any of the bottles. Just one of those awesome nights!
