I agree with you not the Helios Corison cab franc I found that a rough poor but the Kronos cab 18 is young but a beautiful wine . I fully appeciate all the posters that have turned me on to the kobyashi. Never had one but have been looking into the wine sorry for the pollination I am one of my few drinker friends that go for 100 percent cab franc. I had some old relic prior and old behrens and Hitchcock franc Years ago that were pretty enjoyable. Thanks for the feedback

Specifically remembered that, certainly makes the purchase easier on the wallet! I’ll probably pop it over the next week or so.
The surprise was the Bourn Luck, which had an amazing bouquet and seemed much younger than its actual age. Plenty of good years ahead for that one.

Valette Pouilly Fuisse 2016 opened up nicely with baked apples, pear and vanilla. A tight acidity kept it in check. Somewhat blocky and not overly open for business. Hold if you have. 88/100
Ferme de la Sansonniere - Fouchardes 2012
A somewhat strange vintage. It’s quite reductive and the nose really takes some swirls to get going. In the mouth it’s bruised ripe apples with a signature Chenin Blanc honey profile coming in midway. Before giving way to a more ciderish finish. Either this is due to an unfortunate oxidation during process or a slight maceration. 84/100
2020 Hartford Seasmoke Chardonnay - Rich flavor, good concentration, could use a little more tension
2010 Cameron Dundee Hills Pinot Noir - Classic Dundee Hills sour cherry with all the rough edges filed off. Good acidity and finish. Excellent.

Some wines for Christmas dinner. The Carbonnieux was very nice with the lobster. Lots of grassy notes and some bacon fat on the palate. The champagne had an oyster shell nose but a bit bitter on the palate for me. The Peter Michael was a blueberry pie.

Groth Reserve ‘94 was one of my California epiphany wines back in the late 90’s when I first started on my wine journey. When the ‘95 was released, I bought a case and I felt it was even better with more seductive fruit. I drank through that case in a couple of years and loved each bottle. It was a great steak wine. I was parsing through Wine Bid a few months back and came across a bottle that I was able to pick up for $110. I think it was close to that price when I bought the original case. This bottle was well stored and drank great. Opened with green bell pepper, but after an hour in the decanter it showed sweet red and black fruits on the nose and palate, dusty tannins and a long sweet finish. It was great with lamb shoulder, but just as enjoyable on its own.

Picking this up from an auction with my usual lowballing offers, I did not foresee the quality in this wine, which has now swooped in at my top 5 of wines this year.
Deep beautiful oxidative goodness. Nutty, marmalade, coconuts. Solid acidity but at a reasonable level. 60 year old massal chardy vines. Eating with cheeses this is how good life is supposed to be. Still has many more years left

Quite possibly the most acidic wine I’ve ever tasted. Almost unbearable as it’s giving heartburn feelings. Not quite sure what’s going on with this wine. Hopefully a day or two in the fridge will bring everything together.

Who knows, perhaps I am catching this wine too early, but I found this wine quite disjointed and Frankenstein-ish. Clunky parts and pieces, over-scaled and over-ripe, kinda brutish as well. Fruit a bit stewed, oak over-pronounced, rustic harsh tannins. Followed over two nights, eventually gave up and dumped it.
So, you switched to a 2007 CdP to make up for it? 
Maybe a flawed bottle?
I’ve mostly found Chevillon’s wines to be pretty open and user-friendly with generous (for NSG) fruit (09’ 15’ 17’ Cailles, 19’ Roncieres). The 17’Cailles in particular is great.
