What bottle of wine did you open today? (Part 2)

2021 Tenuta Tascante Ghiaia Nera Etna Rosso

100% Nerello Mascalese, imo the island’s grape crown jewel and aka the Sicilian Pinot Noir. Tart red berries, volcanic earthiness, tannic under layer, a bit of bitterness from stalk and skin, and some green veggies. Contemplative with a fun side. Not for everyone, but I can get nicely along with. A motivated pairing with an excellent home-crafted longganisa-sauced pappardelle.
