What bottle of wine did you open today? (Part 2)

Currently at my in-laws and my FIL has some health issues. Which means that some of the work he had started remained incomplete.

A long time ago, I had convinced him of organizing his wine collection because about 30% of it was wasted due to poor cellar management and subpar storage.

Today I decided to go through all the wine and put it on basic shelves so we can at least see the bottles and get to them. I also organized them by region (he owns 50% Bordeaux, 40% Burgundy, 5% Côte-du-Rhône and 5% other) and by age range.

I got more done but this is the picture I took. Tomorrow, I’m finishing it all up.

And because I now know most of the wines he has, I grabbed something “questionable” for tonight’s meal. I won’t open any good bottles while his health prevents him from drinking wine

Cave des Vignerons de Bel Air Entre Chien et Loup 2003
Never heard of this Coop before and a 22 year old Morgon could always be sketchy depending on the style. Popped the cork which looked okay. I couldn’t tell if it was the influence from the Leffe Ruby I just had (disgusting beer if there is one!) or if it was the wine but this smells and tastes exactly like cherry juice! The tannins have disappeared, the alcohol is imperceptible and it’s all cherry. One of the weirdest wines I’ve had. And even during dinner and long after the Ruby beer horror, it still stayed the same. There is one bottle left!
