This, Bérêche Brut Réserve, Lassaigne Vignes de Mongueux and Docquet Diapason are what my failing memory vividly remembers broadened my mind about champagne.
I still love this. Quince, buttered pastry, red apple and a clean saline and mineral streak cutting through the palate. I should drink more of this. Maybe I’m too nostalgic but this really hit the spot tonight.

My wife and her friend actually stopped talking when they first sipped this. That’s like a 107 on the Suckling scale.
Deep yellow. The nose is insane. Warm summer day in the orchard with bee hives: pear and peaches with all kinds of florals, chamomile, honeysuckle, slight honeycomb and a bare hint of vanilla cream. The palate hits just the right balance of texture: viscosity that lingers on a long finish that shows clean bitter and acid cut at the very end of it. Teasing you for freshness but finally delivering it.
