We just got to Venice.
Good restaurant recommended by a friend. I ordered a Cerasuolo. Sold out. Pio Cesare Barolo, sold out. Something or another Rosso di Montalcino, sold out ! They brought this out and told me they’d discount by 30%. Let’s try it
Red and black berries, plenty of acidity, somewhat coarse tannins but lacking complexity. Decent.
The calamari was really, really good. Like, Tokyo or Singapore good. The kids were served quickly. The service was impeccable. I’m happy.
But before the restaurant we had this:
This wine is more stone than fruit. All kinds of mineral and salinity with just enough citrus. Striking and fresh. Easy to drink.
Caveat: we sell this.
