Delavenne Aura de Marius
Pinot Noir, 6g/l, 5 years on lees.
I expected more richness out of this but after my surprise, I really liked it for what it was. Balanced, slight spices, unripe peach and ripe citrus. The profile doesn’t scream PN. Medium+ finish with agreeable bitterness.

Chateau Angelus 2013
Deep dark bordeaux robe. Red berries, slight smoke, spices, damp earth and slate. Medium bodied, bright red berries, medium acidity and fine tannins on the palate. Long finish on slate, red cherries, thyme and a little torrefaction. Good wine, good pairing with truffled croque-monsieur and braised duck and Tomme sandwiches. Very enjoyable. Is it first growth quality?

Remoissenet Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 2012
Wonderful nose of ripe red berries. Burgundian palate of sweet red cherries, red florals and spices. Elegant, lacy, balanced and lovely. Drink now. It won’t get any better.

Rossignol-Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2016
Didn’t quite hold up to the Remoissenet. Red berried with medium plus acidity. Medium finish. Good but lacking on the mid-palate and finish.
