What BEER are you drinking? (Part 2)

They are just so great

It ended up on tap and there were so many great ones available I did some tasters rather than full pours. From left to right

Pliny for President - triple dry hopped IPA
Alvarado St Triple Dry Hopped “Contains No Juice” DIPA with 6 hop varieties
Trillium + Vail Red Ferrari hazy DIPA with citra and mosaic
Alvarado St Motor Oil XX - Barrel Aged Imperial Stout Blend w/ Vanilla, Cocoa & Coconut
Cantillon Camarise - Lambik with Haskap Berries

After minimal beer drinking so far this year, I’ve had a good run over the last week:

  • Structures Brewing Junior Pale Ale - a fav of mine and this version hit the spot

  • Holy Mountain Brewing/E9 Brewing Five of Swords IPA - a collab I always look forward to and this did not disappoint

  • Cantillon Classic Gueze - enjoyed a 750 ml bottle last night during my last ever visit to Brouwer’s Cafe - am sooo going to miss this beer Mecca in my neighborhood

  • Otherlands Brewing Festbier - perfect chaser to the Cantillon

  • Gold Dot/Fort George Wojak Hopman Cold IPA - appreciate the not to Bojack Horseman; nice beer even though I’m not sure the style is up my alley

  • Upright Brewing Special Herbs (think 2022 or 2023 bottling) - one of the few OG beers Upright still makes and always one of my favorite annual releases. Right up my alley with the herbs and gin barrel characteristics blending in nicely with the dry saison rather than overpowering the base beer

Went well with a variety of food. Sour forward.

This was remarkably balanced and food friendly. Made in Yucatán, reportedly by lady brewmaster. Released as finalmente lluvia!

Night temps back ~ 27°!

That is my favorite Cantillon to drink young. How old was yours?

Summit - “Saga” IPA
Bell’s - “Hazy Hearted” hazy IPA
Mankato Brewing Co. - “Mad Butcher” IPA

Oh nice. Haven’t had enough of these.

Nice to see you here, Bud! I know I’ve been failing in my beer posting duties … but I have to say, we’re significantly poorer without your presence here. Hope you see fit to drop in from time to time.

I liked the Monk Medley, too — I wish Monkish would put out more West Coasts (and more singles, in general). I also grabbed a couple four packs of their Le IPA, which — IIRC from my perch in very northern MI right now ---- is a single NEIPA — I love that one!

We are way long overdue for a few pints together, brother. Hope you and C are well … once school is back in session my life will be a little less insane and I’ll hit ya up for a Green Cheek, Everywhere, or riip stop together. Cheers! :beers:

Everything is good my friend ! Just busy AF per the usual. Green Cheek Sunset Beach when we can !

Cheers !

Bud

Vintage 24 dropped this week and it picks up right where we left it at the end of 2023. The Nelson and Mosaic create a magical nose, think crushed dank blue berries and stone fruits with just a hint of that wonderful diesel aroma. On the palate the Nelson pops big time, passion fruit, green melons and dusty dry Sauv Blanc skins. The Mosaic offers more of that blueberry note along with sweet strawberry. Clean and dry with a long finish.

Highly Recommended,

Cheers,

Bud
