I think it is absolutely great to see this type of event marrying music and wine. It hopefully attracts more people to wine. The Napa Blue Note Festival that marries wine, Jazz and Hip Hop is another great event. And I would say my humble events do the same.

I think Jermain is more involved in this than this thread gives him credit. I tend to think of Wine and Hip as his event. He has come to my events. Sadly it is always a busy time workwise for me and I have never attended. I went the first year with Mike D. to his knighting ceremony in the Clos Vougeot but I had to leave before the wine and hip hop event.

It would be really cool to see this in LA! I set the Music bar pretty high with my first LA event : ) Spiritual Jazz great Phil Ranelin, Carlos Niño, Apple from the legendary LA soul band Apple and the three oranges. Tobi fresh off winning Canadian Hip Hop artist of the year did an impromptu performance with the live band. Many other hip royalty in attendance including Cut Chemist, Cyrpess Hill, Madlib etc. Keep in mind unlike Wine and Hip Hop which I think is great I have no sponsorship.

Not sure who the main demographic would be agewise but for someone like myself who grew up in the 90s it would have been a pretty big deal actually to see Smif-N-Wessun live (love love love Dah Shinin’). Jurassic 5 too, of course.

No shade on either of those acts, I just meant to imply that they are more underground legacy acts and not popular current rappers. My guess is the demo is burgundy wine lovers first, hiphop fans second. That demo is going to naturally skew older so the acts they booked make perfect sense.

I would love to attend this event but I’ll admit it would be more for the wine, even though I love hiphop of all kinds, it wouldn’t be the thing that got me to attend if I was in a position to afford it.

I’ve got lots of electronic music connections if we ever need to do a House Music and Burgundy fest.

I’ll give whomever the name ‘Clos Saint-Disco’ in exchange for an invite

Any notes on the Noel Ramonet?

For those of you in Los Angeles, there is a series of Vin et Hip Hop events held March 18, and March 19. This is mostly Burgundy, but estates from other regions are also participating: Bordeaux, Italy, Napa and perhaps another region as well.

I think most of the events are sold out. I will be at the Thursday evening event. And I am hosting a Rieslingstudy event on Friday.

Where is ticket information? And when did they announce his events?

It made the rounds in the restaurant thread

Tickets ranged from $850 to $2500 per ticket.

@larry_schaffer my event is free. Bringing a couple of cases of old, rare and large format Mosel wines!

The music part – which would generate more interest, personally – is still a mystery to me

It is a real mystery. I heard they are going to have a DJ at the RVR event. Except RVR has a DJ every night. I can assure you that there will be guests with real Hip Hop cred at my Rieslingstudy!

Hrm, the main event is invite only? I like burgundy and I like hip hop, but this is a bit of an odd one.
