Just wondering if they are shipping in order of order date. Were these shipping notifications some of your earliest phase 3 orders?
Placed 1/29 and 2/9.
My order dates (2 cases each) are 2/7 and 3/11. Obviously no news on the recent but still waiting on the former.
I placed my first order on 1/29, and nothing yet! I am banking on them shipping these piecemeal. I am going to owe a lot of favors if they ship all 20 of mine at once!!!
Just received shipping notification on three of four cases from Stage 3 ordered 1/29 due to arrive 3/15 according to UPS tracking.
FYI Vivino has 2021 Dolum Estates Cask 28 Cab Sauv for $39.99 each with $20 shipping for 6. UC has the 2018 for $48 each with $58 shipping to east coast. Iāve noticed other higher priced reds on UC sometimes are not the best deal out there.
I added that to an order of some random white I wanted. My wife just came home with some $50 bottles so I justify buying more to save more!
Fun news that stage 3 is starting. I assume this will go faster because its mostly cases.
Well this is good news since I ordered another case today
I havenāt got my stage 2 partial case yet but I got all my stage 1. In stage 2, we could still buy single bottles. Anyone get their stage 2 yet?
Batuello Valdiguie looks pretty compelling at $9 pre shipping.
No news on my first stage 3 order placed end of Jan but got email that 2nd stage 3 order placed early Feb is shipping UPS (and not Fedex) shortly
So I feel like the sale is winding down, what other hidden gems do people see out there?
I can recommend the following:
Any Seven Oxen wine (there are 4 available): French winemaker, so you donāt get the overly ripe Paso fruit. Try the Zin or Cassidy (Grenache and MourvĆØdre)
Ocelli Grenache: Upland is red fruited and Art Den Hoed is dark fruited. Stick to the 2015ās or 2016ās.
Muscardini Zin: I have not had this, but got a 94 from WE.
Caelesta Cabernet: I have not had their Cab, but their Paso GSM blends are very good.
Gorman Syrah: 2017 was a slightly down vintage, but really great wine overall and definitely French style.
Markus: I am not into fruit from Lodi, but their wines are highly rated.
Havenāt had it and didnāt buy it, but the Verdad cab is made by a Lindquist and has a compelling WE review. Only one CT note but itās positive. Doesnāt seem like a terribly risky gamble.
Ser cab pfeffer is really good imo. Had the 2018 recently and itās nice.
We definitely need a āWhat Underground Cellar Wine are Your Drinking?ā thread to share hits and misses.
Decided to pick up a case of Helen Keplingerās 2018 Vermillion. At $7.60/bottle, which translates to just under $12.50/bottle after shipping charges, itās worth a shot. Jeb Dunnuck gave it a nice review and 92 points, and the 22 CT reviews are basically all positive.
Just received the shipping notification for the 10&2. Iāll be honest, I thought they were going to get cancelled.
Looks like they updated their minimum quantities to 3 bottles for all remaining stock. Mix & match time.
Iām seeing quite a few wines still at a 6 bottle minimum, otherwise I might wade back in.
Looks like higher end wines were the ones that dropped to 3
I finally caved and looked even though Iām not buying wine. Someone please buy the Dashe āEnfants terribleā Evanghelo before I give in.
I really donāt see anything compelling in the higher end stuff. Oceans of the sorts of cabs youāve never heard of that litter discount sites. What am I missing?
