I’ve had this problem before. I’d recommend having two tastings, about 5 months apart. Do your first tasting in May, then contact them again with a “Remember that great deal we got this spring?”
This often works with my neighbors/wine buddies, but never works with my wife.
I might have to do that if it doesn’t all sell the first time, otherwise, I don’t have the storage for 5-6 months. And my wife is absolutely going to kill me, but hopefully it will be ok once I tell her how much fun I have had researching these wines. Then again, probably not…
From phase 2 I just had 3 cases arrive:
A bunch of Rieslings for Asian food nights
A bunch of bourg blanc for weeknight drinkers
Some chianti for friends (don’t have much and have some friends that love it
Some le petit ducru for gifts
Ooened a bottle of Marsannay tonight and it was amazing for the 14 ish $ all in.
My final case was phase 3 and all premium champagne, grande dame, Dom, Cristal, Bollinger le grand annee, Duetz. They werent there is phase 2 but i found them in phase 3. Too good to be true so I won’t get excited until they arrive!!
And then, if I work up the courage to buy more, it will be……
Ocelli Grenache
Seven Oxen Cassidy
Bushong Same Deep Water as you
Portalupi Sparking Barbera Rose
Underground Wine Project Cabernet
Le Vigne Nikiara
And maybe a second case of the Gorman Syrah
And there is one more expensive Cabernet (that I am not going to share) that really want to buy all of it, but not at the current price, so hoping for a drop!
Just browsing through this thread. Is it safe to buy wines from this retailer? Are the orders being fulfilled? Just looking for some positive feedback.
Only phase 1 and phase 2 wines are being shipped so far, and yes, no reported issues. If you buy from them now, you will be in phase 3 (me too) and those orders should begin shipping in the next week or two (but might take as long as two months)!
Snagged a case $140 all in. I have a soft spot for the Clos LaChance label and at six bucks a bottle for a trip down memory lane heck yeah. Also grabbed 6 Forman Syrah at 10 bucks. Fingers crossed!
I have seen reports in a Facebook group of damaged/frozen wines, but this seems somewhat limited, and I never saw any follow up on if it was addressed or how.
Thanks for the tip! I had this last week - 2019 Metrick Rock Hollow Vineyard Cabernet Franc. It was pretty good; has a Pinot feel to it. Light funk on the nose; easy on the pyrazines.
Back when my body could handle ginormous wines, I thought The Pixie was the best Syrah in Washington State. It is a big boy but it was delicious. Certainly worth the $10 + shipping.
Got a batch of Tier 3 shipping notifications today. I ordered in cases of 12 but one box is ominously 2 bottles of one wine and 10 of another, with 10&2 supposedly still to ship…
