Just got the Spring lottery as well for CA. I only had the EHT Warehouse C as part of the offer list. The others on the list were a variety of Wellers (12 yr, single barrel, CYPB, full proof), Yamazaki 18, OFBDay, 4 Roses LE, Blanton’s barrel pick, regular Blanton’s and the Angel’s Envy CS. I believe I’ve only seen Pappy on the Winter Release and last couple of releases, don’t know anyone that got it.
On the semi-related topic, did anyone get anything interesting in the K&L Spirits lottery?
I think the TW winter lottery results are supposed to be announced late March.
Not sure about the K&L lottery as this is the first year I was given an opportunity. I don’t think I’ve changed my spending habits much there so not sure what the criteria is.
I just received an email called “Pappy and Buffalo Trace Antique Collection Update” with no further text just a button for “Shop Whiskeys” which takes you to the store page. No update in the email, and I can find nothing on my account page. Assuming I didn’t “win” but the email isn’t helpful at all.
“ Thank you for signing up for the 2021 Pappy Van Winkle and Buffalo Trace Antique Collection Priority Access event.
Unfortunately, this time, you were not selected to buy a bottle.
We wish we had more to offer our members, but as you know, a very limited supply of these highly sought-after whiskeys is available. Our goal at Total Wine & More is to provide these items at low prices using a fair process. Only 2021 Grand Reserve Members like yourself were offered the opportunity to participate.
Thank you for signing up and feel free to explore our other Award-Winning Whiskeys.”
I won a T Handy…but I’d have to drive 5 hours to Lexington get it. Not sure I even could get it though as I have an Ohio license. I can’t find a ruling on that.
Even so as the least desirable Antique I’m not sure I can justify, unless I just want to take a road trip for the fun of it.
I don’t think that is an issue-you just need to be you.
I now live in Colorado but can select what store I enter the contest in. I could pick NM and drive there or NV as I’m there quite often. I last picked up a bottle in NV when I lived in CO but I don’t remember which DL I had at the time.
Honestly, that’s kind of messed up; if you aren’t really interested in it, you could have passed on that bottling and let someone who really wants it win.
They must break all unclaimed bottles after the 7 day window and force Julian to watch.
I do REALLY want the bottle Julian, but did they give you an option to pick or choose which bottle you entered, I do not remember that? I also didn’t know there was only a 7 day pick up window. my thought was I’ll go down and do the bourbon trail with a buddy and make a couple days out of it, but that is kind of hard to plan when you get the email tonight and have such a short window during A heavy work week.
As I mentioned I’m I sucker for road trips so I just may leave Sunday night after work, get there at midnight, and come home Monday. I would probably spend the $700 on the trip that you can buy it for, but like I said…
Yes - you rank order the bourbons, and if there are specific bottles you aren’t interested in, there is an option to take those out/mark as not interested.
Buddy went to pick up his Pappy’s 10 and they had the Willet 8 Year Single Barrel Bourbon and snagged one (he kindly alerted me and I got the last one in Fresno)
