Top 10 Producers in your cellar?

I don’t make too many good ones lol. I convinced my significant other to make a detour from Paris to actually visit Champagne for my 30th birthday. We ended up staying at the Selosse estate and we ordered a bottle of the Initial. I’ll never forget her reaction haha. We basically decided right then that this had to be ‘our’ wine, for life’s biggest special occasions. I immediately started looking for whatever I could get my hands on. I only have a couple of bottles but we’re gonna make them count!

Wow! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve heard this producer thrown out on the board. I really enjoyed William’s wines when I had them in the past…looks like my last purchase was in 2015 with the 2012 and 2013 vintages. I may have to try and source a handful of current bottlings.

I like William’s approach and style. I met him at a rhone rangers event years ago. Such a nice guy. He just blew out some library wines over the holidays at absurd prices (i.e. 2014 Roussanne @ $12 and it’s delicious!).

triggered a memory of Tower Records and their Desert Island Discs where people would list their 10 Ten Favorite albums and I would buy something off their list if we had similar favorites…

sorry for the thread drift but thanks for the memory!

Spent many hours at Tower Records in Philly second only to 3rd St Jazz and Rock

I assume you mean the one on south st? I used to take the train downtown as a kid to go there and repo records on weekends. There was a MASSIVE one in NE Philly on the Roosevelt blvd that was closer to my house and I’d go there a lot too

Only minor movements in the top 10:

  1. Ronchi di Cialla
  2. Milos
  3. Enderle & Moll
  4. Stein
  5. Falkenstein
  6. Keller
  7. Burlotto
  8. La Ca Nova
  9. Henrik Möbitz
  10. Weiser-Künstler / Sandri

Wines from 288 different wineries (47 with only 1 bottle)

With the inventory reduction ambition, the main movement are hopefully a result of consumption in 2026, with modest purchase of favorites and perhaps a few minor explorations here and there.

Interesting to see my small cellar after a couple of years of collecting. Way less Beaujolais than I thought (gamay only 6%)…I guess I drink it all.

  5. Littorai
  6. Alain Hudelot-Noellat

  10. Baudry

Anticipate more Beaujolais and Loire in the future…really more everything…

A lot of movement this year. My buying is becoming more focused as I continue to dial in my palate. I am not purchasing as much Fourrier as I once was (no longer backfilling), but still love the wines, and will continue to purchase new vintages. I anticipate Morgen Long will clime in to the #1 spot as Seth’s wines strike the perfect balance for my personal QPR - they sit on the same plain as PYCM from a quality perspective IMO. Speaking of PYCM - this is a gap in my cellar that I intend to fill. The big five for me heading into 2026 are Paul Pillot, Raveneau, Dauvissat, PYCM and Mugneret Gibourg.

  1. Domaine Fourrier – (14.8%)
  2. François Raveneau – (10.8%)
  3. Morgen Long – (9.2%)
  4. Vincent Dauvissat – (7.9%)
  5. Paul Pillot – (6.9%)
  6. Walter Scott –(6.9%)
  7. Mugneret-Gibourg – (4.2%)
  8. Kelley Fox Wines – (3.5%)
  9. Denis Mortet – (3.1%)
  10. Latour-Giraud – (3.1%)
  11. Lamy-Caillat – (3.1%)

This is a fun idea. My current cellar state looks like:

  1. Nervi-Conterno
  2. Giacomo Conterno
  3. Ceritas
  4. Mayacamas
  5. Hirsch Vineyards
  6. Lopez de Heredia
  7. Trediberri
  8. Bartolo Mascarello
  9. Cappellano
  10. Occidental

Maybe I should shift my buying to something other than Piedmontese and Californian wines
