The last couple evenings I’ve been enjoying the 2015 Marsau [Francs Cote de Bordeaux] which has had changes in ownership, AOC nomenclature, and even it’s label over recent times. But the 14.5% abv all merlot wine continues to be good, as I had mentioned in a brisk discussion of ageworthy satellite right banks here. This is a Jeff Leve styled wine, and I mean that in a complimentary way, as I love it too, and it’s one of the few satellites I keep an eye out for. From my perception I get plums and mocha with a resolved texture and soft acidity. Sediment is very light and the cork is natural. I have aged this house in some vintages, but I think ten years is enough for these. For WB’s who like Pomerol, this is worth sampling, if you can find any of the 2000-3000 cases. Easy B+ on my card.
