Thoughts about Jura Wines

That’s not energy, that’s VA.

I can’t imagine springing $80 for a Saint Pierre today…

Back when I was buying them, all these Jura wines were < $30, including Overnoy-Houillon!

And that nice article about visiting Ganevat when VdmP was €28 - and by a good margin the most expensive cuvee. I think it was written in 2012?

And picked these up during my lunch break today, seemed relevant:

What vintage is that?

MXX.

It is not true, not all

So Bruyere Houillon,Overnoy,Kagami, Richard Leroy have VA?
CMON

Oh yes.

All wines have VA.

FWIW, at least Bruyère-Houillon and Overnoy have not just VA but also brett. I think I haven’t had any Richard Leroy, so can’t comment on that one.

You can certainly find noticable VA in some of these.
And mousiness.
And brett

These are all wonderful qualities to a wine that any respectable natural wine lover should learn to appreciate.

Someone brought a gorgeous Matheny Poulsard to the Rodney danger field dinner last week

A producer I’ll be keeping my eye out for

Interesting theme. Wines that don’t get any respect?

@Jay_Miller Interesting. With my apology to the posters in the thread for the hijack, but can you share the other wines at this dinner?

I’ve only had a small amount of Jura wine and no Ganevat, but I just got a magnum of 2019 Ganevat Cuvée Marguerite. Does anyone with experience have a suggested drinking window for this wine?

From CT I can see you need to ping @AndyK

But seems like you can drink it from now and over the next decade or two.
