I know I’m getting the jumbo maps of Burgundy I requested. My 3 year old grand-niece spilled the beans.
that’s great, you’ll think about that every time you look at the map. Perfect.
The Durand! If only I’d also gotten a super old bottle of BDX to try it out with.
Nice David!
Rats, really goofy wine gadgets like an electric corkscrew and an automatic wine preservation system!
Ugh.
Evidently my clients and consultants I use know me better than my family does, as I got a lot of kick azz wine from them!
A well-intended Gift Cert. for Wine.com…
I’ve told everyone in the family that I have enough material possessions. I’ve asked that they make a donation to Heifer International (they give animals like cows, goats and chickens, to poor folks so they can become self-sustaining) in my name.

From my sister who has a sick sense of humor - a bottle of NV ‘Paducah Red’ from Purple Toad Winery in Paducah, KY. We grew up in Paducah.
The grapes aren’t identified. It’s a deep rose color. Alcohol at 12%. The back label says it’s a ‘4’ on the 1 - 6 sweetness scale!
Love ya. Shelby! Let’s crack this thing this summer…in Paducah!
A new Riedel Vivant decanter
My dad has always indulged my love for wines, and especially Cabernet. During a business trip back in the mid 80s he had passed through the valley and purchased me a bunch of Jordan’s of different vintage. Every year he received a gift of a case of Jordan and always told me to go the the cellar and get a bottle for dinner when we visited. (They were stored in the garage). The fact he thought of me out there and hampered himself with carrying 4/5 bottles back to NY was a testament to his greatness in fatherhood.
Yesterday I had taken my wife, children and two dogs to visit my parents in Connecticut for Christmas eve. We had a really great day. Upon giving out the gifts he kept telling me he had gotten me a gift I will talk about for many years. My mom comes out from a back room and puts a holiday themed shopping bag at my feet. Looking down I spied 3 bottles: 2 2007 Jordan Cabernets and 1 Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio. Pretty cool huh?
BTW, I still have a 1980 and 1983 from that trip in my cellar.
The Jordans in my cellar are better than any Cult could ever hope to be…
Merry Christmas!
Very excited to open an antique riddling rack. Can’t wait to mount it and fill it up with some nice bottles.
The Durand. Look forward to trying it our later today on a 1986 Hess Collection Reserve Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon.
My 3 year old whined a little about a gift she got. Does that count?
I don’t think this is what she had in mind when she said she wanted a doll Jorge.
2 x 2002 Chateau Musar
1 x 2007 Elderton Command Shiraz
1 x 2006 Beringer Napa Cabernet
Thoughtful gifts, but 2 of 4 are going to be exchanged.
I got the complete 54 bottle Le Nez Du Vin Master set and the additional Wine Faults set. Very nice package with some great books and info that comes with them.
Books: Finest wines of Rioja, Authentic Wine, and Grand Cru. I am happy.
