The Bourbon Thread

My first time ever in the presence of a “bowling pin” style bottle… champagne.gif

Any thoughts on the Michter’s American release? Worth the $57.99 in WA, all things being equal?

Had it about a year ago and liked It quite a bit, not very complex and a bit sweet, but
really smooth with loads of carmel on the finish.I think I paid mid 30’s in Cali.

Thanks for the note, Mike!

Has anybody had the Dickel BiB 13 year? I had a bottle in my hand last week because it seemed like a steal for the age ect. Last night I looked at my free issue of whisky Advocate and see they named it whisky of the year. Going to try and backtrack, but thinking I’m out of luck now…

New Whiskey…

FEW has partnered with Alice in Chains to make a limited release Alice in Chains Bourbon finished in Tequila barrels, bottles at 101 proof. Think they made 150 6-packs.

Are these available locally? Am a HUGE AIC fan (even have the Cantrell solo albums).

I’ve heard mediocre things.

Anyone seen the Larceny Barrel proof our in the wild yet?

Haven’t seen it in Seattle yet.

Not released in West yet.

We have about 48 bottles left, so you could ask a QFC or someone to special order you one. If that fails let me know.

Ok. Will try to get in on Sat when the main guy is there for Sammamish - I picked up a Michters American from them tonight.

Thanks sir!

Looks like it will be in WA in about a month, should be in CA a bit sooner.

I recently picked up a bottle of Wellers 12 year old Bourbon. For Bourbon connoisseurs, you know how hard it is to land Wellers 12 year old. Maybe harder than finding Pappy Van Winkle.

Where? Maybe we should start a thread to help fellow bourbon brothers find bourbon?

Has anyone tried the Old Forester 1910?

I like it. Not as strong (harsh) as the 1920, with a little sweetness on the finish. Good substitute for Blanton’s.

Haven’t had it but love the 1920
