Tempting wine purchases you’ve passed on—give others a shot

$900 is the best price I saw for '08 Cristal magnums. They are selling for $1200 in the UK now! I did not see the '08 Cristal rose magnums, but I did get the '12 rose magnums. I don’t think they have released '12 blanc magnums yet. I have a pretty good variety of magnums, but Comtes is by far my biggest holding in that format. They were just such a value relatively to the rest in the '02/'06 years.

I bought it also. And they don’t have it. I called today. “Sold yesterday.” Allegedly.

Apex/wine solutions offered them for 900 recently. I couldn’t justify buying them considering just how much 08 Cristal I have in 750.

Well, they now have our personal details and credit card information so it worked out well for them.

The mark-up on the magnums relative to what I paid for the 750’s made me pause - for a moment. There is something very special about Cristal magnums for me and as expensive as they are now, they will only get tougher to find and more expensive. I can only imagine what the Vinotheque pricing will be.

found and grabbed some 08 Comtes in 750 format in NJ. Now just need to figure out how to get it to California since they don’t ship. Hahaha on me.

I agree they’re very nice, I just have a lot of the 750s.

Pretty sizable tranche of new wines on WineBid this week, especially German wines with some age (eg JJPrum, Donnhoff) and Bordeaux.

I am on buying freeze (hopefully more or less for good) and I have lots of riesling and claret in the cellar, so I am resisting.

Alternatively, you can also purchase it directly from Andrew, alongside many other of his wines. Plus, you get a 15% discount on 6pk and 25% on a case.

I really like their '13 PN Reserve, which I first tried from their '21 BD offer and on @Corey_N 's insistence.

Thanks for the mentions here, It’s an honor to be nominated.

Andrew’s Petit Verdot is delicious.

Continues a bit of a run of some keen pricing lately on this particular cuvee:

One last bottle of Cédric Bouchard Roses de Jeanne Val de Vilaine at $87 in NYC. Who’s gonna be the lucky one:
