Wish I had see this earlier, 14 is sold out but grabbed a few of the 16. Thanks for the tip @MChang!
The Chicago Wine Company (‘TCWC’) has the 2021 Mayacamas Vineyards Cabernet | Mount Veeder on a BLACK FRIDAY PRICE of
$134.95 BOTTLE
The 2018 and 2019 are WILDLY different wines. The 18 is bombastic and hedonistic and the 19 is like a jammy CdP syrah
This is $48 at a local wine shop in Santa Barbara. Why is the 2023 vintage on such a discount?
Sort of stumbled across this but discovered that Chevalier Wines has 2021 Bruno Clair Bonnes Mares for $299. I don’t know if it’s a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal or what but figured I’d pass on as that’s quite a low price for that wine.
I still may get a couple but likely passing for now
That’s a good price for an excellent wine; I know they were trying to sell them last holiday season but didn’t.
They had a lot in stock - if website is right it was like 17 bottles
Yeah Kevin emailed me an offer last year about it, I guess they do have a lot. There was a period of time where you could but the 17 for that price or less and I’d rather have the 17, but the 21 is also great.
Haven’t seen the ‘17 at that price, but Benchmark has the ‘17 CSJ at $289
Yeah it’s all bought by now that was a year or two ago.
Kalin in stock. legit retailer, ive bought wines from them in the past.
Website quantities are not always accurate, would take that with a grain of salt and reach out to them.
Lopez de Heredia blancos just dropped at Astor:
Tondonia GR $300
Tondonia Reserva $75
Gravonia $49
Max 1 bottle of each per customer
Thanks Sam! I grabbed one of each.
Not exactly a screaming deal, but if you’re a fan of Wells Guthrie-era Copain, there are some mags of 2012 Copain Kiser “En Haut” and “En Bas” available at K&L for $70. I’ll tag @Frank_Murray_III and @brigcampbell since I saw they had some recent TNs.
Is there an appetite for me to start a new thread where the point is to share specific experiences with new vintages?
It might not be entirely clear what I mean. The idea came up because I’m personally about to order Boyer-Martenot from the 2023 vintage (a producer I follow in most vintages). Maybe there are people out there with experiences that could help the rest of us who are considering a purchase.
I feel it might be a bit excessive to start a new thread about this, but I can’t really find an existing thread where it fits 100 percent. If there is an existing thread that covers this topic, please feel free to point me in the right direction. Otherwise, I imagine this could be a recurring consideration for several of us.
There are many threads for specific vintages in specific regions, most of which start when the vintage is just being released, and then continue. But not all. For instance the 2021 Barolo thread is pretty active right now. I think limited it to vintage + region makes the most sense if you want to start a new thread. A thread for a vintage in general around the world strikes me as perhaps not as useful.
I poured for the guys a side-by-side of both 2012s this past January. En Haut was superior to En Bas, and I perceived the En Haut is drinking pure and delicious. If I was making a choice, I would buy En Haut and share it with a group given the size of the wine and the ability to spread that wine’s joy across many palates.
You can make a white burgundy vintage thread; people keep talking about making one.
I would like one of these. Have tried a couple 2022s recently that were hard as nails and wondering if it’s just the producer/style or if they are shutting down.
