Winebid has this “buy it now” for $42 so no commission. I bought a few. Never had it, but looks solid!
I did also but stupid ship cost was over $10/bottle. I’m done w them. Unfortunately I had bought them before seeing ship price due to the way their system works.
Hmmm…a case shipped to me is $35. I guess one of the advantages living in Norcal.
I just picked up one more bottle from them- $28.97 Ground to Minesota. It was an older, rarer bottle.
I also bought earlier in the sale, and received those bottles. There were good deals to be had. I bought 2 more bottles of red burg on April 23rd that were supposed to ship out yesterday, but I haven’t heard from them. Hoping the rest of the wind down goes smoothly, always a bit nervous with a closeout sale.
Thanks for the heads up. I was actually at that store on Saturday and considered buying the Alter Ego at $65, so I’m gutted to have missed it at $40! I checked out the HP and Wheeling stores today - HP, as expected, had basically nothing. Wheeling had two mags of 2018 Ridge Geyserville for the same price, as well as a few single end of bin bottles in the cellar:
2020 Spottswoode 1.5L - $283
2017 Bond Vecina 750mL - $400
2009 Dominus 1.5L - $393
Thank you, you saved me a trip to HP today. My office is up there, and I was thinking of going into the office so I could check out the selection at the HP Binny’s. Saved me some serious windshield time!
Vins rare private cellar offer has a few decent deals;
01 Rousseau csj 1500
01 Drouhin griotte 395
01 Drouhin Chambertin 350
Got an email that morrell was celebrating their move to briarcliff manor with apparently a free tasting with first growths and screaming eagle being opened.
What I thought was about to be a fantastic deal turned into an absolute joke…Hy-Vee Wall to Wall Wine & Spirits in WDM, IA has vintage packs of Dom Perignon:
1x each of 2012, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006
1x each of 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004, 2002
Etc…
And a couple others, including 5 and 4 packs with vintages from the ‘90s and ‘80s.
The sign said, “Vintage Packs $799.99 each” (LFG!!!)
You can imagine the look on my face when I was informed that these were $799 a bottle.
Da fuh?
Corn prices pretty good these days?
Flush corn money.
I just bought 3 for a dollar?
(I realize it’s Florida corn…which isn’t as tasty)
and they were flying out of the store, I’m sure. What a joke.
In all reality, corn and soybeans prices are very poor. Because so much soybean goes to China, the tariff uncertainty is pushing many farmers to switch to corn. It’s going to be a rough harvest.
Feed prices should help livestock farmers a bit, but I’m sure the big packers will suck up the savings.
Thanks for this. Going to the Bay Area this week so snagged a six pack.
Sweet corn and field corn different commodities.
But yes grains are priced low right now, including wheat.
You don’t say.
No one means sweet corn when they say corn.
Tempting corn purchases you’ve passed on…give others a shot.
I’ll swing by CBOT on my lunch hour tomorrow and see what looks compelling.
