Crazy flash sale of Spring Mountain Elivette wines for 80% off. Part of the new revitalizing I assum and get rid of their crazy big library.
FWIW, some recent vintages:
'10 WE93
'11 WE88
'12 WE94 JS96
'13 JS96
'14 JS97
'15 '16 WS96
'17, '18, '19 WS94.
I took the bait - 2 '16s, 1 each of '10, '07, '04
Admittedly don’t have a ton of experience with aged Napa cab/blends so hoping some of those older ones that I chose can give me a glimpse (Please do not tell me I picked the wrong ones, thanks).
Their Cabs age really well, but not sure about their Bordeaux blend.
I was going back and forth and figured I could just pick it up but then they took away the pickup option!
My brother got an order in for pickup though that’ll I’ll have to grab. Maybe they had too many and didn’t want people coming up just to grab the wine.
$250 is a pretty generous minimum for free shipping.
Picked up mags of ‘15-17’. Should a fun evening in a few years.
Agree on the 250. I ended up adding an extra 2 bottles and took with the free shipping
1 16 mag
2 15 and 12 750s
Too warm for shipping currently. Likely will be the case for the next four months or so. Will they hold?
Thanks! Picked up a mixed pack of 10, 15, 16, 19s. Yes they hold for shipping, at checkout you can pick a shipping date this winter.
In for a split case of 12s and 16s.
Saw the 13 is fully sold out!
This seems like a great deal
very tempting, it looks like you can pick a ship date all the way out to Nov.!
Thanks for the PSA/Heads-up here. I just bit on a case of these, as I have an acquaintance who has shared a few of them with me in the past and they’ve always shown well. Getting some birth year wines for my daughter and son (2012’s and 2017’s) of this caliber at $46/each and $38/each respectively + free shipping along with a couple of '01s and '02s was an easy, unexpected impulse buy today. My credit card statement hates you, but future me loves you when I crack into these.
they enforce the per-state shipping limit, so I was limited to 12 750 equivalent. Picked up 2018 750s, mag, and 3L for grandson’s birth year, and a couple 2014s to round out a case.
Hi All - I was fortunate to be invited/attend their recent “Cellar Sale”, which was insane pricewise. They had pallets lined up all thru the cellar, beginning with '16s and going down to 1990-91 vintages. Lots of hit/miss in terms of what was offered. Lots of older Elivette…mix of their regular Cab bottlings, some Chev, some others.
Pricing was “to die for” - fixed price of $180/six-pack; $250/case, $250 mag 6-pack, and $120/splits, regardless of vintage. I picked up a six-pack of '07 Elivette (drinking fab!!) and split a case of '94 Chevalier (opened one, wonderful). Should have bought much more!!
At the end of the cellar was a big table with many open bottles being offered, which provided a unique opportunity to taste many Elivette vintages side/side. BTH, almost all were drinking well.
Justs another one of the beneys of living in wine country…
Thoughts on some of the older 375’s? Or best to stick with 750+?
I see this as a major cash flow issue.
Thanks. Bought 3 '13s, 2, '16 and 1 '18 and it came to exactly $250.
$20 for a pedigreed wine like this in 375 is crazy.
I had to go for a case of those.
Perfect when you need something good but don’t want to pop that second bottle.
In case you were interested, at least in VA, its 12 bottle equivalent per shipment. It’s letting me do a second order. Worth a try if you are interested in more…in WB fashion!
