Sean - I would say that we like to bring stuff that is fun and interesting.
Plus points if it’s older, rare, etc.
We discourage easily found retail wines.
Yellow Tail and you’re banned for life (we’re giving Alan a pass on the Caymus he brought)…
But in the end, we’re in it for the company and friendship. It’s a great group.
Ok so Larry no longer has pull at MG and we have to pay corkage…$15/btl.
First Trump, now this.
The world is ending.
In the past when we had no corkage, we were pretty liberal with bringing extra bottles.
But now, let’s stick with a bottle a person.
We should still have PLENTY of wine.
Having said that, perhaps it’s even more important to bring no plonk!!
This may be our last gathering at MG? So let’s go out with a bang!
(Sean, if you want to bring extra DRC, I’ll pay your corkage )
OK, so if the “no plonk” has been invoked and at the risk of being a one trick pony, what say you all to 1990 La Conseillante I just happened to find as opposed to the 1997 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barbaresco Riserva Vürsù Vigneto Valeirano?
