I think there is 3 possibilities.
1- didnt make 23 jbv and/or jbv white (highly unlikely)
2-these need more time in barrel (probably not)
3- held back to have enough wines to be offered in 1/26 release (i can see this)
Speculating is somewhat more amusing than asking them. But i may do that today, can’t hurt.

The new release is out. I broke down and bought two each of the JBV and Rocket Block.
I justified the purchase because their 2023
I did the same. I skipped all '22 offers, so I figured if I didnt buy this time I might be kicked off the list. The price creep on the standard bottlings mean I may not be a buyer for much longer though.
Gotta have JBV, but can pass on the others.
I skipped the last one. I like the wines but they are getting painful to buy. I’ll see on this one.

My offer included wishlist request for Gratias - wasn’t expecting that to be offered a second time. Received full waitlist request the last allocation offer.
Sad day for me - I will be sitting this one out. I love their wine and have been buying since the 2001 vintage. But, I have 150+ bottles and no space (in fact, less than that after a move to a new house with no cellar). I plan to drown my tears in one of my few 2007 bottles left.

I heard Saxum had been pretty good in resisting price increases? For the longest time I kept hearing they kept it at $95, which is pretty low for a cult producer. Now granted, this info is many years old - have they shot up in the last few years?
It looks like this Gratias is Syrah. The previous was red blend.

Ah - that explains it. Rechecking the last Gratias was “Version 1” and was Grenache forward. Either way - a nice bonus.
Was $38 per at one point too.
Last time any were $98 was the January 2022 release
July 2022 release they were $132 and $156

From Justin re: Gratias:
I don’t really need to hype up a free wine, but I’m going to anyways because I don’t want any of you to miss out on this. It’s made from barrels of Broken Stones, Cayucos Ridge and Somnus, all top tier, drop dead gorgeous stuff, and they come together very nicely. I don’t know why we’re giving this stuff away!

actually didn’t buy a magnum of Rocket Block for the first time, I’m getting too old for big bottles
