Must buys in this release?

There is a must-not buy in it from the 2020 vintage.

The Hexe or the Rocket Block?

Read Jeb Dunnick’s notes on the 2020 vintage and his reviews of the 2020 Saxum wines published on the Saxum site. Hexe and Rocket Block haven’t been published yet, but the rest are there. He rated these wines much lower than 2019 and most other vintages.
I’m not suggesting that 2020 Saxum are bad wines, I’m merely being cautious. After the recent price hike, I would rather focus on the best than buy broadly. I’m buying less wine these days as well, so this helps too.

The release will include the following wines.

2021 G2 Vineyard ($135), 2021 Heart Stone Vineyard ($135), 2021 Paderewski Vineyard ($135), 2021 4hearts Vineyard ($135), 2020 Hexe ($159), and 2020 Rocket Block ($159).

2021 G2 Vineyard 1.5 L ($270), 2021 Paderewski Vineyard 1.5 L ($270), 2020 Hexe 1.5 L ($318), and 2020 Rocket Block 1.5 L ($318).

Hexe and Rocket Block are 2020 Vintage. The others are 2021.

If you follow Jeb’s reviews, he states that he tasted a few barrel samples from 2021 and indicates that “the 2021s that I was able to taste were terrific, and this will clearly be another terrific vintage here.”

I’m also second wave. 2021 is birth year for my first so I’ll be picking up a few but the price increases have made me cut back and diversify my buys. Based on other 2021 wines I’ve had I am expecting good things here.

First wave is live

Anyone else notice no reviews other than Justin’s notes?

(Need to watch my spending for a while)

In for 2 each of 4 Hearts, Pad, and Heart Stone.

Weren’t a number of the 2020 Saxum wines released in January? Hasn’t anybody popped one to see for themselves?

I don’t worry about reviews that much

I just like to hear notes from another tasters point of view. The numbers are meaningless.

I’m excited to get my hands on some of them some day.

JEB Dunnuck posted a “sneak review” of the $135.00 wines.

Where is this sneak review? I don’t see anything new on JD’s site
