If you have access to your own water (pier?) could you catch the crabs a couple days ahead of time, consolidate into one basket, sink it off your pier and just pull and eat a day or two later?

That works great except for the seals that kick the shit out of them overnight.
Damn those crabs look sweet. And the pics from the phone are really crisp. if i only had AT&T. here on the east coast, we are relegated to Blue Crabs, which, while they are great, are clearly not up to the caliber on the west coast. We were slummin’ it in Annapolis last weekend and made the best of it.
