Saxon's got CRABS!

First day of Dungeness Crab season here in the south Puget Sound. We had a great time with Don Kittmer and the kids (Steve included).

Scored a cooler full of huge Dungeness and Rock Crabs for our 4th of July Crab Fest. Do you wish you were coming now Wetrock?

Caught with a combination of Rings and Pots. Most of Dungeness in the pots at about 130ft and the Rocks in the rings at about 30ft. Bait was chicken thighs.

Well something terrible happened while I was cooking up the crab tonight…3 Dungeness and a bunch of Rock claws accidentally got eaten.

I beg to report they were quite delicious.

That’s pretty much true. Although they drink some pretty good wine, and Paula makes some killer desserts. And Phil has some pretty good work stories.

But that aside, I can’t wait for Steve to give me some crabs. . .
