You went crabbing today for the 4th? If you want to eat old crabs, go to the store. I am no longer disappointed that I’ll be in the San Juans for the 4th, rather than eating those rotting crabs.

You doin’ more crab huntin’ today? How long is the season?

(Pulled pork samiches for us & about 50 other folks. Sadly, it won’t be a wine crowd at our house.)

Yea we’re going out in about one hour with Phil and Dan Walker.

The season go’s on and off until next year so there’s a good chance of getting lots of crab. In fact the Hood Canal season starts July 29th so we might want to think about something around that date.

Amazing stuff! Enjoy the 4th as I am sure you will! Between the prawn season and the oysters and now the crabs…you guys are seriously doing it up right!!!

Being new to this crabbing business… I would have thought you’d catch them the day of the 4th to eat them on the 4th (given you are catching them right off your dock).

And I think a better way would be to hook up the traps to a strong electrical current and zap the suckers while still at the bottom of the ocean, pull them up, and eat them on the boat. Talk about fresh!!!
