Thanks, James. Thought provoking questions - would be interested to partake in this scientific analytical study.
Thanks for all the votes! With La Paulee next week - Sat March 8th would be best.
Timing wise I”m thinking lunch/afternoon to give people more flexibility around evening plans. Does that sound good?
I’ll also post it wider to gather some East and South Bay people
Are we still on for the Sangiovese tasting this Saturday?
Hi all,
Thanks for your patience. We are on for this Saturday 8th at 1pm at my house in San Francisco. I live by Valencia/Market - please DM me for the address.
I’ve put together a Google Sheet so people can fill in / update what they are bringing. We are looking for a prominently sangiovese based wine from Tuscany from a quality producer. Ideally we get good geographical coverage of each of the sub villages / zones.
I’ll have some food to test for paring. But it won’t be a full blown lunch. Think of it as a tasting portion. I’ll source us some nice beef since it’s Tuscany after all
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for hosting James! It was a lot of fun, and great to meet everyone. Hopefully we can all get together and do this again soon!
Thanks for hosting James! That was a great offline. Anyone have pics?
And next time, let’s do Northern Rhone. I have a number of interesting things I can bring
Strong showing team! Proud of everyone’s selections.
Beef + ragu + sangiovese. The way life is meant to be lived

And a good photo! Funny seeing me and Yule not fitting in the photo (we are both tall).
Delayed but thank you again for hosting James! We had a great time and really enjoyed all the wines! It was also great to meet all of you again, or for the first time!
Hope your weeks are going well! Looking forward to the next offline
I second the northern Rhône idea! Can’t wait for the next one! We’re also happy to host if people want to travel to the suburbs haha!
I would be up for it.
I also know plenty of no-corkage places in the Mission if people aren’t too picky about the food.
Would love to see more spots added to SF BYOB Update?
I like the idea of a Mission no-corkage place
Keep me posted on N Rhone.
Ok, if people are interested, DM me.
I can set up a group chat where we can talk details if there is critical mass.
Would love to make it for a Northern Rhone focused night, will keep an eye on the thread!
@Yule_Kim we’re def down! Shall we try to settle on potential dates?
Would also love to join if this is an open invite. Been hoping to find more regular tasting groups. And I love northern rhone
added you to the group chat
Hello! I’m also interested in the northern rhone tasting if there’s space. I’m an IRL friend of @julianr!
