So difficult to come up with questions that aren’t outright confrontational, but also not patsy questions. (For those who had skin in the game, I can understand why outright confrontational would be the choice).
How about:
“Your admin problems have created a significant number of disgruntled ex-customers. When they express their anger on the internet, how does it affect your business?”
and/or
“How long will it take the repair the damage to your business from the bad publicity arising from the disgruntled customers?”
I have been reading along and not participating much because I received everything I purchased from Ray Walker Maison Ilan. Ray happens to be in NY and called me Tuesday am to get together to open some bottles. Had a bordeaux dinner on Tuesday and out of town during the rest of his stay. Glad I had good reasons not to get together other than the obvious.
I just cant get over how arrogant Ray was about his plan and empty promises about delivery and lack of general care. Also, his treatment of customers was not of the school that the customer is always right.
Which BMW car parts offer the highest value and are relatively untraceable, so that when I never pay the vendor who sold them to me, I can still resell them with ease for extra cash?
If I wanted to assault my wife, what is the best way to not leave marks? Obviously, I do not want to attract police attention.
2010 Corbeaux magnums; fact or fiction?
Have you ever purchased finished juice and bottled them under your label to make up for production shortfalls?
to be fair, that question gets asked, he is a negotiant so that’s fine to do. Probably not the best idea if you have half your own wine and half other finished wine.
The ol rumor is that Mason Leroy just slapped a bunch of labels on old stock of Remoissenet and just called it their own.
Well now I finally have a good reason to pop a MI bottle, settle back and listen. It should be a VERY interesting show…
Perhaps a good question would be “Why send out clearly high bills for shipping fees, then respond by sending out revised bills that are STILL out of line with industry standards?”
I’d like to ask him if he considers the 2012 Les Chaffots truly representative of his work. I have opened two bottles with significant cork damage that were undrinkable.
Separately, I’d like to know why he hasn’t responded to my inquiries about these exhorbitant shipping charges to which his new customer service rep. Zack forwarded to him for resolution over two months ago.
When the '10 Corbeaux had trouble finishing malo, did you seek advice from other winemakers? In retrospect, do you really think choosing to not intervene resulted in a wine closer to your goals than if you had acted? Also, isn’t it true you held back this wine from general distribution, but delivered it to your futures customers? That sure makes it seem you don’t fully stand behind the integrity of this wine. Please explain the apparent inconsistency.
Well, I guess it is time for me to pile on. I’ve remained quiet like Suzanne since I received everything I ordered. 2009’s and 2010’s no problem, though I haven’t opened any yet. Did not order the 2011’s, but 2012 is an other story. I only ordered six bottles and opened two Les Chaffots. Both cooked leakers poured down the drain. I sure hope the Chambertin isn’t ruined.
