Schneider’s of Capitol Hill in DC always has a huge and interesting selection, not always the best pricing.
Right now 2015 Dom is $209.95.
Unsure of the newsworthiness of that offer? I just got 09 Cristal offered at nearly that price.
Seems to be a good bit lower than Wine-Searcher, just put it up in case anybody was looking.
Where’s this? Anniversary year wine, I’d jump on that.
Washington, DC. On Massachusetts Ave., near Union Station
Yeah, hard pass when that’s the reality.
But no one posts the better offers.
Belmont Wine has a flash sale at $205 for the 2015 Dom (48 bottles available).
I received an offer for $229. All gone by the time I looked.
Well you can “buy” from Vinovest, but I still haven’t figured out what the logistics are if you just want something now.
If that is in stock from a reliable source (and not subject to whatever tariffs might be at the time of delivery) it is a great price. I see a number of “sources” on WS in that neighborhood but I wouldn’t trust a one. Flickingers is the lowest I would trust, and they are quite explicit about the tariffs being (a) unknown and (b) on the buyer
Andrew, where was the Cristal going for $209?
Thanks for the tip @Dan_Kravitz, I grabbed a couple.
It was $229 and was a Cyber Monday special from TK Wine that sold out quickly (naturally).
That’s the one
Oddly shows as $239.99 on storefront, but appears at $209.99 in cart.
FWIW Envoyer was offering recently at $219.
DP shouldn’t have released the wine imho. Stands out as much weaker when alongside any other recent vintage. Ymmv.
I have not been particularly impressed by 2015 Dom, which I felt was more qualitatively aligned with 2010. Which means it’s a nice enough wine, but not worth $225 for my palate.
2015 is generally a weaker Champagne vintage.
Though the two Roederer Starck 2015s are great. Vintage generalizations v specific wines, as usual.
Thanks! I was asking about the ‘09 Cristal ![]()
