Depends what you mean by consnesus. I didn’t love the 15 Dom, but I’m not a Cristal fan the few times I’ve had it. Not a buyer of either at the price.
I mean that most people who have posted on this thread have expressed, directly or indirectly, a preference for '09 Cristal over '15 Dom.
I’m not a buyer of either. My wine budget goes elsewhere.
Slightly surprised by the figures above. 2015 Dom is widely available here in Hong Kong for about US$145 (whereas 2009 Cristal is ~US$240-250 here).
It’s not just me! Of course I am not much of a Dom fan either.

The one that’s been sitting in my garage in a box of holiday gifts from last year…the one I forgot about.
I’m kidding; I know people have different tastes in champagne, and Dom and Cristal are different styles and I understand how one might prefer Dom’s style over Cristal enough to prefer the 2015 v 2009 from those producers (but 2009 Cristal is the absolute jams…)
Doesn’t explain it fully, but US pricing may be baking in about $30 of tariffs.

Therefore not widely available, which makes it a poor counterexample to any widely available pricing. Whether the ‘15 Dom is a good deal or not, this is a red herring.
This reminds me of the Zachys ads from 40 years ago. They frequently mentioned that competitors might advertise lower prices, but just try buying a bottle at that price. Zachys’ prices weren’t the best, but they had the stock.

It was a good deal, but that’s kind of the point of a PSA IMO. Not to highlight a price that you can meet or better anywhere anytime.

Had DP 15 on Monday - blind …
good, but not THAT good.
No buyer for around 200 …
I’ve had 15 DP a couple times at the Delta one lounge, it’s not very good, has a bit of a green streak as well. Interestingly enough we’re going to open the 09 Cristal tonight.

Also interestingly I drank all my 09 Cristal and will not rebuy as there are so many better vintages out there.
