Portland. OR for a couple days, suggestions on food/wineries would be appreciated

Love Davenport. Always well executed. Very nice wine list.

Many other great suggestions. I’d second Eem. Nostrana a longstanding personal favorite.

Two others mentioned in the original thread that still resonate.

Coquine - always has been excellent when I’ve been. I think it’s consistently one of the best places in town.

Maurice - lunch only. Very precise. Excellent expression of the cuisine. Unlike anything else in Portland at least that I’ve come across. Black pepper cheesecake a favorite.

You’re also right by Flor Wines - great wine shop and they always have a great by the glass line up.

Yes, and good people too,

I think Gallo Nero is much better for Italian food and wine. And in the same neighborhood.

One of my most memorable meals on my last trip out was Oma’s Hideaway. It was described to me as Malaysian street food inspired fusion something or other. All I know is that it was amazing. It didn’t have an extensive wine list though. I think we got a bottle of Vincent gamay.

Lots of great recommendations. +1 for Eem and Higgins. I’d add Q for a place close to you. You must get to Slabtown/NW 23rd. Great walkable area. Highly, highly recommend G-Love (get the chef menu). Also if you are into baked goods we were blown away at Kiari West which is a gluten free bakery but maybe the best bakery I’ve been to. St Honore is an institution bakery in the area. That area is full of legit places to eat.

Just went to portland. Best meals was eem, kaan and davenport. All three was really good food with almost no misses. Best wine list was daveport, kaan wine list was very average but they allow corkage for 40 bucks. Good cocktails though for both kaan and eem. Thought coquine was ok, maybe went too late. Maurice was pretty good too.

For me, Davenport is almost the perfect restaurant.

Excellent wine list/service (and zero issues with corkage), food is consistently very good ++, fair pricing, and Zaltos on the table.

Agree on Davenport. In fact we’re going tonight.

Davenport was my favorite from my Oregon trip. I agree with it being the “perfect restaurant.” Something you can reasonably go to a few times a month without guilt. Food that rivals places 2-3X the price. Great service. Oustanding wine list and glassware, and a casual vibe that isn’t stuffy in the least.
