I would be very interested–have booked the day and hope to make it!

(I regret I can’t come close to competing with the wines you’re likely to bring, but definitely can bring a couple hopefully somewhat interesting bottles, perhaps including quite a nice Vintage BdB?)

Great! I’m sure bubbles will be great either way; what producer is it?

hey we chatted on reddit earlier - I would definitely be interested!

It’s a 2009 Billecart-Salmon.

Sounds like it would be great!

I was already planning on being in town the day before, so I’d be interested. Is there an event going on that weekend? Hotel prices are crazy. :open_mouth:

I’m there for a convention but I don’t think it’s likely driving all the hotel prices up… not sure.

Maybe a graduation or two?

Good call. Looks line Penn has their graduation that weekend through Monday.

I am available! Count me in

Anyone else interested? Gonna start looking at venues soon, anyone have ideas? Heard pizza beddia would work well.

If there are 6 total we could do the hoagie room which is their private dining and “hoagie omakase” which is amazing. Idk what their corkage policy is but Joe is major wine guy so I’m sure he would be down for this especially if we share

If more than 6 we could still eat at beddia but it would be at a big table in the main room

Another place to check out is Picnic - same restaurant group and if Joe is your contact he could probably hook this up as well. They have a private dining space and the food is awesome

other options but not sure on availability would be some BYOB spots as we have those here -

A Mano - Italian
Tabachoy - Filipino
Pera - Turkish

Shoot me a message if you have any questions or need any help!

That sounds like it could be an option! Do you know joe well?

No I dont know him at all haha. I just have just had his pizza a bunch and know he’s a big wine guy. I also know he’s super close with Robert Dentice who I know a bit and assume you do as well? Talking to him might be the best way to book something honestly. Im happy to reach out if you dont know him. Let me know!

Yeah, I will reach out to Robert.

Looks like we are set for pizza Beddia, the start time is a little up in the air right now as I’m trying to get it between 5-7 and Joe is working on it, it’s a busy time of year bc of the penn grad, but as of right now I have something reserved at 430 but we’re trying to push it back to between 5-7. Will keep everyone posted on the time.

Regarding wines, I think I will bring the following wines:

2006 Robert Arnoux (Arnoux-Lachaux) Suchots
2009 Hudelot-Noellat Suchots
2017 Jean Marc Millot Suchots
2006 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne

Reservation is for 6, please let me know what wines you are thinking about!

ill be bringing some of the best of Germany from 21!

Keller Oberer Hubacker GG
Wassenhaus Vulkan Spatburgunder

Have been to this place many times, I think it’s a top 5 pizza in the city and definitely stands up to the best in NYC, New Haven, etc. Their small plates are all really amazing too and it’s asparagus season here and their lemon asparagus pizza should be on the menu and is legendary. Yes asparagus is hard to pair but world class champagne and riesling might be up to the task!
