5pm Sunday @ Wu. We’ll see what I can get in the box but @MarioS makes a good point that we would be looking at 50mL pours with the full lineup. I’ll see what I have on hand, I’m busily packing in order to head up to PDX early for my morning flight. Worst case, maybe we all have different vintages in our glasses concurrently and talk about it from what we each have in our glasses. Is that even legal??? Regardless, I’ll have wine on board.
To quote one of the greatest lines in the history of cinema . . . Rules, in a knife fight?
See everyone tomorrow! Wu’s Wonton King at 5pm. Looks like we should be right at 14 people.

Don’t forget to bring stems!
Hello NYC, I will most likely be over on the East Coast for RAW with one of my new producers from Germany. If you are interested, I can keep you posted. RAW NYC 9.& 10.th of November. Have fun at the winemaker dinner, that sounds great! Cheers from California
Bring your serious rain gear, and prepare for transit delays! Hopefully the flooding ain’t too bad!
Thank you so much for getting us organized!
I’ve just pinged my +2 and they will both be there:
- Jenny Eagleton (somm)
- Max Falkowitz (food writer)
I’ll definitly be riding above ground with the wine but hopefully you all travel safely. Look forward to sharing some wines, a few laughs and possibly a duck (?) very soon!
Regrettably, we must withdraw. I had planned to wait and see, but…while not an epic storm, it’s more risk than a wine dinner can justify. We are a bit too far away, in the same direction it’s heading and I know not to rely on LIRR.
Perhaps, someone more local will jump in and grab our seats.
Sorry Mario.
Shelby, I was looking forward to meeting and doing a deep dive into your wines. Perhaps next time you’re here or on my next visit out your way.
Enjoy all!
Sorry to miss you! But no worries at all, staying safe is paramount!
I confirmed Tribeca Wine Merchants on Wednesday @ 5-7pm - public tasting. Not sure what I’ll be pouring there but we’ll figure it out.
I think all of my other pouring this week are industry-only.
Where in CT will you be doing tastings? Just saw your last post - if it’s industry only bummer but understood.
I’ll ask my guys in CT and get back to you.
Sorry you won’t be able to make it, next time!
My +1 can no longer make it either so looks like we have an extra 3 spots if anyone wants to take those.
+1 for me, thanks!
With the impending monsoon, I suspect that it would not be prudent to attend. No problem getting there from White Plains, but the return trip might face a railroad that has decided to shut down. Been there, done that, and it sucks. Are you going to pour in CT in the upcoming week? That might work better for us Burb people.
No problem - I can bring in another couple of people would like to attend.
In re burb tasting. Happy to do another if stars align in CT but it would need to come together fast and I need to double check on my availability w my distro for this Thurs or Fri. If not this time, then next time for sure.
We can do that fast if you can clear it - but no pressure so only if it is convenient.
If we find a place somewhere near New Haven we can probably more likely to get something together! I’ll need to ship an extra case overnight but possible. Thoughts?
New Haven is too far for the people I know in Westchester. Maybe next time. Don’t go out of your way to shop stuff.
They are telling em we could do further west Friday evening.
Many thanks to Shelby for setting this up and bringing the thunder. For me the Bracken Pinot Noir was really singing. The chards were beautiful as well, winemaking well handled based on vintage variations.
And not to forget the still and sparkling Pinot meunier, which was wonderful.
Terrific company as well. Thanks to Mario for handling the deets.
