Back to pedestrian breakage.

Went to pull out a bottle from the hotel fridge and the Yeah! And Enfield Foot Tred roses come flying onto the ceramic floor. Guess I won’t have to worry about paying corkage.

I opened our basement mini-fridge at lunchtime today and this one threw itself off the top shelf, landed capsule-down, bounced into a 180, and met its end on its second landing. I can only assume it sensed a great disturbance in the force and panicked. But the basement smells great!

I had one roll out of the back of the SUV after opening the hatch, 3 feet maybe.

Bounced back up two feet and I almost caught it mid air only to bust apart on the second bounce.

I did catch a wine glass, with wine in it, mid air after it was knocked off a table but that’s another story. LOL

I often break Strava records on my mtn bike, but only when I forget to turn it off while driving home with my bike on the rack.

I’m late to this thread, and have a story with no wine, no photos, and it wasn’t me. A friend packed some rare and expensive Tequila and Mezcal in his luggage. He said he knew they’d broken even before they had come out of the baggage carousel, as he could smell them.

In March of last year I filled my Wine Check with a case of booze. Champagne, some chards, a pinot, and some margarita fixings. I was called over to the luggage desk (at like 1:00 am after taking a later flight from Houston to Orlando after a trial to go meet up with my family already on vacay at a beach house). Sir, um, your luggage is leaking. Sorry. We are not liable.

And that’s when I hear Todd’s voice in my head: One must use the 6 pack styro shipper when checking the Wine Check…the 12 pack padding is for car travel.

Right, right.

Anyway, nice little nearly 2 hour drive in a rental SUV admiring the brilliant flinty gun smoke notes with bright fruit and unbuttered popcorn of a Walter Scott Freedom Hill chard that was crushed and soaked my wine check. Brought back memories of a Laflaive Batard Montrachet an acquaintance once shared with me at Grailey’s.

Anyway, my Egly, Dom, and Vilmart made it just fine so no emergency.

That happened to a friend of mine and me coming back from a vacation. Turns out it just me he was smelling.

Knocked Realm Tempest off the bar counter last night when I was getting a glass of water in the dark. Expensive glass of water.

As a HS senior (in the US), I wanted to thank an advisor that had written a particularly favorable recommendation that helped get me into college. I wrote up a nice card and baked a plate of chocolate chip cookies that I was going to hand deliver. My parents contributed a boxed/wrapped bottle of Dom Perignon.

On my way to the car, everything started slipping. I saved the cookies. :frowning:

I brought back two bottles of Tequila. When we grabbed it off the luggage conveyor belt I told my wife no breakage. How do you know? No tequila stench.

Oh no, you checked the wine check elite with the regular padding?

FMIII had a $500 bill before we could get to this one in the side of the house. I said you find the leak and I’ll take it from there. Start digging.

Ah yes, the blue pvc pipe glue - great stuff

He’s not the only one who did!! @Charlie_Carnes just traveled with 12 bottles in his Elite to NYC…and they all survived!

Men don’t read directions.

My guardian angel kept my bottles safe!
