One Cold NIGHT in Napa

This community was AMAZING in helping me narrow down wineries for tastings for our one day in Napa! How about our ONE dinner opportunity?! I have reservations at the following places but I’m open to YOUR other suggestions and feedback on these -

* ad hoc
* Bouchon
* Farm at Carneros
* Charter Oak
* Press - is this worth it??

Where are you staying? There’s something to be said for not having to drive a long distance at night, particularly down to Carneros.

Bouchon, hands down for me. Get the French onion soup and prepare to die and go to heaven

Has anyone been to Bouchon since they remodeled? I’m a contrarian, having written off Bouchon as overrated for the price. If Yountville is the destination, I’d rather eat at Bistro Jeanty.

I understand what you’re saying Alan, but if you’ve never been to a Keller restaurant, it is something everyone should experience.
When in Vegas I like it for Brunch.
Now off to see if I can pull off a Croque Madame
:laughing:

That’s fair. And it’s probably better ambience now.

I’ll throw a vote out for Mustards since it is consistently very good.

Press is a good experience if you like multi course dining but i prefer the food at mustards (+1), farmstead, charter oak for apps, and certainly bouchon (+4) for breakfast. Edit adding Brasswood.

Mustards is our favorite. We go every time we visit wine country - sometimes twice. Bistro Jeanty is also excellent. Last trip out, we had a fantastic meal at Bottega in Yountville. My wife and I were both underwhelmed by Bouchon, although it’s been a few years on that one.

Staying at Millliken Creek Inn, near downtown Napa!

If you want to end the night closer to your hotel, La Toque is great and sometimes overlooked as it located “in the Westin”.

Looks nice! Didn’t even know about this place. So, Yountville is not that far, I’d say go no farther north for dinner. You do have some nice options in downtown Napa as well, if you want to stay really local.

Yes, weather can be cooler, but everything is green and beautiful, though leaves are obviously all gone. You’re more likely to have bright sunny days as a storm of some kind. We pretty much only go to wine country from about October through April, less tourists :wink: You’ll enjoy it!

Downtown I’d suggest sneak another glass in at Cadet and then go to Angele

Enjoy

Bottega is fantastic, agree. Hope they are able to maintain at a high level under the circumstance.

Loved Bouchon. Underwhelmed by Ad Hoc. Haven’t been to the others.
If you’re downtown, the best meal I’ve had downtown was at Torc.

She already has 5 reservations for one night let’s keep it in the parameters and help eliminate the ones that are not needed.
