Springstock is an older one

2018 K Vintners El Jefe Tempranillo available at $17.99!

I tried the 2019 El Jefe and thought it was absolutely fantastic. If the 2018 is anything like the 2019, the 2018 El Jefe is an incredible QPR.

I’m sure the 2018 is great, but drink soon. His wines age well. Had the 2018 Broncho Malbec two months ago and it was great.

Anyone have any idea what that 2017 95 point Rutherford cab available tomorrow might be?

2017 heitz trailside is my guess

That’s a nice guess.

$100 seems like a lot to me for a Spectator and Advocate 93 point cab.

Wish they were selling the Martha’s…

BV GdL is my guess. Routinely shows up discounted to $100ish.

That was my consenus alternative as well

Gemini says 2017 Heitz Trailside, specifically calls out the “aged 4 years in oak” bullet point.

Don’t even need AI, you can search their site for Rutherford and the Trailside is $175 with no discount.

looks like they’ve hidden it now

If someone at WTSO reads this board, maybe somebody gave a clue that they should hide it. Last bottle probably does the same.

For a $100 mystery bottle (no longer a mystery for us), the Trailside is disappointing. Definitely will not jump in blindly on their next mystery bottle.

agree, it’s a bad price on a underperforming wine that didn’t sell. it isn’t moving at that price on winebid. they show you the dark red capsule in the ad, so it’s basically confirming what everyone has already shared.

Hi Joseph. Have you tried Soda? I am tempted to get few.

I had the same reaction yesterday when Wine Spies had the 93 Tastings rated Mira 2018 Schweizer Vineyard SLD Cabernet Sauvignon for $50 (elsewhere $250). For me, a wine would have to get 95 - 97 point ratings in order for them to hope to sell them at $125 - $300 a pop. Even $50 seemed to be too much for a 93 rated wine so I passed. Others didn’t and it sold out before 10 am PDT.

I bought the 2x2014 mira schweizer for 49 i think, not alot of SLD comes around at a decent price. I would’ve bought the 2018 but had 2 full lockers that i dont want to ship. Hard pass on the mystery bottle though for the same reasons. There are several places selling the heitz trail online for around 109. So it wasnt much of a deal anyway.

Seems like the wine biz is targeting the 29-39 range for wine sales. LB in particular is 6× <30 or 4x at 40-50ish, 3x at 50-60ish and 2x at 60-70 and 1x 80+

Vivino seems to be following that as well with 39 and 49 being key price points. But they tend to drive up the sale price for a bit and then lower it again to around the original price and call it a deal.

I have not. I picked it up due to the discount and that I have family members that like old school style Napa cabs.

Simply too hot to ship in SoCal right now (my pool was 89 degrees today) but I will gladly give you a tasting note when they come in.
