I usually shop at the RWC location, but I’ve actually found the Mountain View location to have the crazy one-offs that are just eye candy for me. Last year they were selling an 8 bottle collection of 2014 DRC for $31999.99 (1 romanee-conti, 3 la tache, 2 st-vivant, and 2 richebourg), a 5 bottle set of Bond in OWC, and a bottle of chateau petrus all at the same time!
Just saw 2016 Sassicaia at the West Plano (Dallas) location yesterday for the same price. Looks to be about $60 under the market price for this wine…I picked up a couple.
2014 Marques de Murrieta [Rioja Reserva] $18
2015 Pitray [Cotes de Bordeaux] $10
2015 Chemin Royal [Moulis] $13
I’ve had some terrible Pitrays from the 90’s back when it was a Cotes des Castillon…but I would bet those 15’s are ok…especially considering the ten spot cost.
Maybe an ok price for the Murrieta, but I was picking up 2010 for $20, so no need for those.
Also you might see these in your local warehouse, $2 per glass, sold in packs of 8
Seems to be USA made, rims are a touch thicker than Nachtmanns or Spiegelau dishwasher safe glasses.
These would be good gifts for family members who do not have good stemware, so when you’re visiting you can leave these behind.
Producer is ARC, who I don’t recognize. They are a touch on the small side, but I’d have no problem using them. These would be very good for a white wine glass in the F&B trade.
The laws have changed slightly but not much to do with beer sales. I don’t fully understand it, but stores like Costco and Total Wine can sale all types of alcohol as long as there is a local liquor store within a certain distance. Or a certain amount of local stores in a given area. I’m not really sure. I still try to support my friend Joe at the local Lukas Liquors store. But it’s hard to beat Costco sometimes.
Got the last Ch. Figeac at Park Meadows Costco Denver for just over $200. Total wine, literally a block away, is $270
