I’d definitely buy some of that Mt. Edens Chardonnay if I was just a little bit closer to that store.
Yeah, me too, despite the dumb trampled lemons note. I’ve never been disappointed by a Mount Eden Estate Chardonnay and that’s a reasonable price.

I’ll still be overseas until mid-October so I can’t just check my local Costco’s (Los Feliz and Burbank) if they’re selling some too.
All the Fountain Valley wines @Chris_Seiber photographed except the CDP are at the SLO Costco as well, although they were down to their last 8 bottles or so of the Mt. Eden. I was tempted but stuck to a few of the Mumm Rosé Champagne that’s still around ($27 here) plus a bottle of 2018 Altos de Valdoso Crianza which was on markdown to $13. I don’t know anything about that one but am always on the lookout for inexpensive reds.
Where is 471?
Sacramento
Man do I loathe the DC store. It’s always a nightmare checking out and the bourbon hunters racing around the liquor isles. I can’t stand it.

All fair criticisms
But also precisely why if I were going to try and open bottles of wine in a Costco, I would try there.
Huntington Beach Bella Terra store also has the '19 Mt Eden Estate Chard for $54 like the others. Nothing else I noted.
Pertinent to us:
Costco dominates multiple categories of the food supply — beef, poultry, organic produce, even fine wine from Bordeaux, which it sells more of than any retailer in the world.
Pretty fair article! Thanks for sharing.
The Aquired Podcast did a great dive into the history of the company. It was truely fascinating.
That La Pointe is a very good deal. They’re making better wine today than they were 25-50 years ago.
Yea I just bought a couple for like $40 at the Lincoln Park location a month ago. Just had a Coravin pour last night and would definitely buy more at that price
Were there “multiple aromas?”
Haha I didn’t know what you were referring to at first. Yes, Suckling was spot on with multiple aromas
