Not in SoCal.
That Schramsberg Mirabelle is about $23 at our local Costco, IIRC.
Stopped by Carlsbad Costco to grab some more of the truffle cheese Iām addicted to. What the heck

Funny thing is they had a barrel select store pick from some random other liquor store
Wow here in KY that would be over a $120+ bottle
And here on WB it can be yours for half that
I officially hate everyone who gets to shop at the Carlsbad Costco. F all of you.
Is five minutes away and Iām there pretty often. Itās really not that great.
All joking aside, it seems like it has consistently better Bordeaux selection than any other Costco in America, at least based on this thread. And now this crazy price on the Eagle Rare (not that I particularly care about that myself).
Do you disagree, or maybe youāre just used to that and it seems like itās normal?
P.S. I also resent that you have Robertoās there.
I think the bordeaux selection is pretty good but I rarely buy them so I guess Iām not the best judge in that regard
Iām a Juanitas guy anyway
Itās definitely one of the better Costco selections Iāve been in, up and down California. That and the Morena store, which is kind of the mother ship Costco for the region.
I definitely concur on the Carlsbad store being good for wine. Iāve been there I think three times now and they always have a couple more interesting selections than all the stores here in the OC. Plus the '19 Bordeaux selection seemed to beat every other store mentioned in this thread.
Isnāt eagle rare always a $30 bottle? Itās always on the shelf here in Seattle for that price, itās my standard whiskey decanter bourbon.
They are pretty solid but I think some of the NorCal Costcos are outstanding for premium wine selection. They will have more Napa up north but there were some killer BDX stuff there posted in this thread.
My local Costco (Murrieta) had some gems for a while and now they are basic bottles.
Costco recently closed on the land parcel for a new Napa store at the south end of town on the old Napa Pipe facility. Local paper says it should be open in the next 9-12 months and it will be interesting to see what they get when it opens.
Store selections or āpicksā of Eagle Rare often start closer to $45 and can go for well over $100 on the secondary market, depending on if it is a reputable or sought after pick.
Some of the NorCal Costcos get picked over pretty quickly.

yeah we see that here too. I asked about some 21 year old Hibiki they had and the manager said omne guy came in and bought them all.
Store picks are the same, qfc often has them at the same price, maybe $5 more. I guess three tier makes this a regional thing.
It doesnāt. The fact that WA has zero relevant independents and 95% of the business is chains just makes these items like any otherā¦inventory to move thru. Seems like some consolation vs. our tax structure in WA.
Iām sure the guy from Texas Liquor will be there to clean it out shortly. I used to see him and his buddy at Costco clearing shelves of Yamazaki, Blanton, and Stagg Jr then posting on IG for some absurd price.
