Just got tracking for my 6 bottles of LLC from Costco
6 separate packages…… Costco may have great customer service, but certainly lacks wine shipping efficiency, lol!

I don’t know the vintages (this is Champagne after all — they seem to not want you to know any of that), but I’ve had several bottles and it’s a good wine. I might guess you would like it if you got a good bottle.
I do like it. So-so value at $60. It’s just that I bought some that was I think base 2012(upthread somewhere) and it wasn’t very fresh. So I thought maybe it was just a case lost somewhere and not treated nicely. Since they are restocking it you have to wonder where it comes from. I bought one earlier this year from WHWC and it was base 2018.
To estimate the base vintage, use the “laid in chalk” year Heidsieck puts on the back. That’s their own special way of saying when it was bottled. I just subtract one year to get the base.
I believe Charles Heidsieck was intentionally releasing a mix of base vintages onto the market (starting around 2019) to allow buyers to see various states of their wine’s evolution and do vertical tastings, etc. I can certainly appreciate it, and I have enjoyed some of the older dosgorgements.
Or, I suppose it could simply be their excuse for selling lots of unsold wine ![]()
Either way, I like the wines, and find them to be of great quality, so I’m fine with it!
Nice you have something to look at at least! I’d take some SHL and Leoville Poyferre (a tad high priced). In NW Colorado Costco’s best they have is Barde Haute and Veuve Rose…
That’s interesting. I wish I could find older base vintages of the non-rose. That I would buy with reckless abandon.
I’m not seeing any of these wines on Costco website. I am in Dallas and put in a CA location as my “home store” and still no results
Surprise AZ Costco has some 2019 Bordeaux at good prices, not sure how long they will last.
Anything of interest though? PV does as well N. scottsdale…but nothing exciting (i.e. just the stuff that isnt selling)
Giscours, Fonbadet, Deyrem Valentin,
Why Costco only ships wine to CA??
Usually CA has the best selections and in top of that they ship there.
That’s the beauty of Scottsdale, someone will buy that bottle!
Just can’t put it on the black amex anymore ![]()
Hoenstly though…how much fun would it be to pop that bottle!
Wanna go halvsies?? ![]()
Where was the Pegau?
Vancouver, WA
I was holding out hope for the Midwest, but had a feeling it would be west coast.
Kirkland, WA has it as well
