Official Costco Thread

Walked in yesterday right when they were filling in the secured wine bottles in Temecula, 18 Bordeaux are in the house. Lafitte, $699, Margaux $610, Pontet Canet $124.99, Palmer $359.00, Figeac $259, Lynch Bages, $134.99, Haut Bailly $124.99. 18’ Tignanello $115.99

Left with 3 Tigs and 2 LBs.

Nice score - especially the Tig!

$359 is a great price for 2018 Palmer. Wish we got that in Eastern Washington!

Your store puts my local store (Louisville) to shame! So envious.

This is not typical. They usually have basic Napa reds and some Temecula wine, yuck.

Just picked up the 2021 Advent Wine Calendar. $100. While I’m not expecting any wine epiphany from this purchase, having 24x 375ml wines from the Old World (mostly Italy, Spain, France and a few random countries like Bulgaria and Moldova) will surely be a fun adventure.

I wasn’t sure if the 10 days of Cab was worth it, but I did buy a bottle of Conundrum to see if it’s drinkable or just weird.

In KC for a day…any Costco worth visiting?

Scottsdale Costco had 18 Mouton at $599 bottle, 3 left…they had 1 --2018 3L Cos d’Estournel at 899.99, but I took it.

Every time I see this thread, I get hopeful for a second then I remember I live near the Glendale Costco. Sigh.

Whole Bellota leg currently on their website @$549 with stand and knife

Oh nice, they have some solid stuff in Scottsdale again?? Was VERY disappointing when I was there a couple months ago. Especially since I went there specifically to check out the wine, ha!

2018 Sassicaia for $189 at a SE Wisconsin location (Pewaukee). Was tempted, but didn’t grab any.

Midtown off Linwood is the one that I go to and probably moves the most wine. They cycle in the usual stuff, but it tends to have a slightly above average selection overall (for Costco). Keep in mind that the Kansas side Costco’s won’t sell alcohol.

That’s where we went, it was ok but nothing like what some others are posting here. Underdog Wine was pretty cool, got a few mags of grower bdb and some “geeky” stuff to try.

'19 Kirkland Chablis 1er @ $17.79 in Chicago.

Underdog is fun, but I’d check out Cellar Rat also if you like the curated selection (just larger).

La Vista (NE) Costco had 2016 Monna Lisa Gran Selezione for 19.97 Very nice wine, snagged several. Beyond that the usual average selection.

Very solid buy. Wish I could find more.
