Anyone have experience with the Kirkland XO Cognac? Saw it as I was ordering groceries the other day and piqued my interest.

Never had it, but Cognac and especially XO isn’t something I am value shopping for with a PL vs. a known brand.

Yup, excellent for the price if you like Cognac. A step up from a Remy, Courvoisier, and Hennessey VSOP I think.

Kona Costco, first time for ;
RAEN ‘Royal St Robert’ 2017@$50
Paula Cornell Brut @$16

Both are “*” so one shot deal. Grabbed the last case of RstR
after reading thru the comments for the last 4 vintages.
If mailer to list is $390/6 and Hawaii shipping is usually excepted from any free shipping offers so that’s another $8-15 per 750.

I’ve learned in wine to make leaps of faith, relying on the CT crowd sources. With Hawaii’s supply chain issues and thus “ the Price of Paradise “ the Kona Costco has been ringing the bell for me.

It is pretty good and excellent QPR. It is made by Peyrat-AssociĂ©s et CIE which is marked on the bottle. Peyrat XO is approx $100. Kirkland XO cognac becomes my “house cognac”. If you can drink XO cognac at $45, why spend the same amount on VSOP cognac. [cheers.gif]

Really nice.

I have a couple bottles of this.

How about this?

2018 Kirkland Signature Bordeaux Superieur
$7.99

The DE Costco has none left because I got the last 8 bottles today.

75% Cab 25% Merlot.
Must be a Medoc one.
Or maybe Haut Medoc.

I wonder if it will improve in the next year or 3 ??

I grabbed 1 1/2 + cases of this.
They found some more this morning after telling me that a guy grabbed the last 3 cases yesterday.
I grabbed 6 more and then went back and got the last 8.

Anyone else see this in their Costco?

8 bucks.

2018

I quite like it as well. I always have a bottle on hand.

I saw it out of the corner of my eye when walking through Costco this past weekend but I did not stop to investigate. I assume you like it since you bought 12+ bottles?

You should try one and see.
I bet you go back and get more.

Costco DFW area has just done their annual post holiday wine markdown. Mostly large format wines. Discounts are 35-40% off. Picked up Freemark Abbey 3L and Raymond Cab 3L. Also had Duckhorn 3 pack including 2017 cabernet, 2017 merlot and 2018 chardonnay and a Prisoner 3 pack.

Thanks, will go check out my costco today and see if they have the same markdowns

Markdowns are done at the regional level so this would be for Texas and Louisiana only. That being said, this is the time of year that other regions would be marking down their holiday wines so not a bad time to checkout Costco if you had another reason to go.

Was that Prisoner 3 pack .375’s by any chance?

Yes, the Prisoner was a 3 pack of 375ml. There were a lot of them.

Saw cases of it today at the Costco in CLT.

Didn’t buy it but I did pick up a couple more bottles of the Kirkland Signature Series Rutherford Cab and a bottle of 2015 Lilian Ladouys

I saw that.
For an 8 $ wine from Bordeaux in a terrific vintage, I like the subtle Bordeaux taste from a 75% Cab and 25% Merlot

Probably a left bank wine I assume.
I think it’s nice for when I want a taste of Bordeaux.

It’s better after it has a couple hours of air.
Maybe they didn’t give it a chance to open.

Which wines and vintages are the Potts?

Also, what is the black label wine next to insignia?
