We’re Sleight of Hand Cellars, from Walla Walla WA (the town so nice they named it twice) and we’re STOKED to participate in our very first (and hopefully of many) Wine Berserkers Day 2026! I’m Trey, the dude on the left. That’s Jerry in the middle and Keith on the right. We make world class Rhône and Bordeaux varietal wines, along with a small amount of Riesling, Chardonnay, and Rose’ from our vineyards in SE Washington State. Music is intertwined in our wineries DNA (we have a vinyl library of over 3000 albums, a tiny record store in our tasting room, a vinyl club for our wine club members, the best winery merch in the business, and host killer concerts in our Seattle satellite tasting room). I left Athens, GA in 1992 to move to Seattle chasing Pearl Jam (Sleight of Hand is a Pearl Jam song, in case you were wondering). Fate had me moving to Walla in 2000 to work for Dunham Cellars, and 7 years later, Sleight of Hand was launched with Jerry. This upcoming harvest will be the wineries 20th vintage! Our 2013 Sorceress Reserve Grenache is a bit of an outlier, as it is mostly from our Estate block in the Rocks Distrct, Stoney Vine Vineyard. Stoney makes up about 70% of this vintage, with the remainder from Upland (a terrific site for Grenache). We also blended in some Syrah from Les Collines (10%). This wine is absolutely in its sweet spot right now. JUST enough secondary characteristics to add interest, but not to distract from the amazing fruit that has blossomed in this beauty! I remember using a ton of whole cluster in this wine too. It was a hot vintage but we made some good picking decisions, esp. with the Stoney Vine, so it is beautifully balanced. In 2015, Wine Enthusiast had this to say about the wine: A mixture of Stoney Vine (70%), Upland (20%) and Les Collines vineyard fruit, this wine displays reserved aromas of crushed violets, dried orange peel, brown stems, gravel, smoke and peat. Then sweet raspberry and savory flavors float like a magic carpet, showing exceptional length. It’s an elegant, compelling expression of the variety. — Sean Sullivan 93 POINTS

Our library offer 3-pack of the 2014 Archimage is absolutely something you should jump on. This is such a gorgeous example of a wine with “new world fruit with old world dirt”. This wine is drinking in it’s sweet spot right now with another 7-10 years of youthful exhuberance ahead of it before it heads into its more mature flavor profile! We just cracked one open, and man oh man are y’all in for a treat. Ripe Cab Franc always takes on this gorgeous floral note, and this wine has it in spades. Loads of sweet red cherries, some blueberry preserves, tobacco, cinammon spice, highly perfumed, a touch of leather, a hint of mint, vibrant acidity and salinity to keep it fresh. Just awesome! If you don’t have any experience with older WA State Bordeaux blends, here’s your chance.

I got my start in the wine business 26 years ago working for Eric Dunham of Dunham Cellars here in Walla Walla. Eric left us in 2014, and I have only made 4 vintages of this very special wine since his passing (this wine was formally known as Force of Nature, but we had to change the name because of some trademark issues). The 2022 Off He Goes Syrah is 100% Syrah from Les Collines Vineyard, 100% whole cluster, native fermentation, and aged in 3 neutral French oak barrels for 20 months. It’s an absolutely beutiful, pure expression of Syrah from this special vineyard site here in Walla Walla (1300 feet elevation). The wine presents with very dark fruits, violets, sage, roasted meats, tremendous structure which begs for some more bottle aging, vibrant acidity, and an earthy undertone. This is for the N. Rhone lovers out there. If you want to open a bottle sooner than later, make sure to give it a decent decant! We only have 60 3-packs of this wine left to sell.
Each vintage of this wine has been HIGHLY rated, including the current vintage. The 2021 vintage was a Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wine of the year. For our current vintage, Vinous scored this 95+ points, and Owen Bargreen and International Wine Report gave it 96 Points. Do yourself a favor and snag a 3-pack!
You are in for a TREAT. The team and I cracked open a bottle to get some tasting notes. We were floored with how great this wine is drinking right now. No oxidation, fresh as can be, and in the perfect drinking window! This Chardonnay is sourced from 45+ year old Wente Clone vines in the Yakima Valley (French Creek Vineyard). The wine was aged for 10 months in neutral French oak barrels (no new wood). Native fermentation, aged on the lees in a fairly reductive envirnoment (which helps with longevity). It’s so fresh, with loads of candied pineapple, lemon custard, fresh honey, white flowers, and a vibrant, rich mouthfeel.
