BERSERKER DAY 17 OFFER FROM CULTURE WINE CO.
UPDATE — Jan 30, 8:45 PM - BD17 OFFER EXTENDED THROUGH MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9th
South Africa is in the midst of an important wine movement led by a new generation of winemakers focused on site expression, restraint, and responsible farming rather than volume or shortcuts.
Despite producing some of the most exciting, character-driven wines in the world today, South Africa remains dramatically underrepresented in the US, due largely to outdated perceptions and the absence of large, awareness-building brands.
What has emerged instead is a deeply collaborative, innovative wine culture—one that prioritizes transparency, regional identity, and long-term stewardship of vineyards.
I (Peter) founded Culture Wine Co. to bring this new wave to the US, working exclusively with producers who are defining South Africa’s present and future. These three bundles are a snapshot of what’s happening on the ground right now—why South African wine has never been better, and why it deserves far more attention.

MESSAGE ME ON BERSERKER DAY AND I’LL KNOCK ANOTHER $10 OFF THIS PACK ![]()
These are the two rarest wines Culture Wine Co. imports, with fewer than 300 bottles of each brought into the U.S.! This is the best way to see the potential of the luxury segment of South African wines from a small, family-owned winery.
2023 Luddite Chenin Blanc, Bot River
100% Chenin Blanc with 25 days of skin contact. Deep amber in color, bone-dry, and very clean, this is not the funky, oxidized style of orange wine. Estate-grown, dry-farmed grapes are fermented with native yeast to retain freshness and natural acidity, producing one of the world’s most compelling Chenins.
Tasting Note:
2023 was one of their lowest yields ever, with only 250 cases produced off about one ton per acre. Richly textured with apricot, pear, tangerine, and passionfruit, layered with savory fynbos and subtle salinity. The palate is weighty yet elegant, finishing with white fruit, spice, and minerality—all at low alcohol.
This is not only one of the most unique Chenin Blancs made in the world—it’s also one of the tastiest.
2021 Luddite Shiraz, Bot River
100% estate-grown and dry-farmed. Extremely limited—only 750 six-packs produced. Notes of dusty earth, dried herbs, blackberries, fennel, and fynbos brush. Velvety, textured palate with fine-grained tannins. Only about 2 tons per acre yield here.
Luddite Shiraz is one of the most age-worthy reds made in South Africa. Having tasted vintages dating back to their first in 1999, these wines go the long haul while also drinking beautifully on day one (especially with a nice decant).
Tasting Note:
Aromatics combine blackberries, herbs, and coastal brush, while the palate offers smooth texture and length. With careful aging, this Shiraz can rival top Hermitage or Côte-Rôtie.

Donovan Rall is one of the most important voices in South African wine today. A key Cape Winemakers’ Guild member and 2025 Winemaker of the Year (Tim Atkin MW), Donovan has built his reputation on precision blending and sourcing fruit from over 30 vineyards across the Western Cape. Each harvest he manages nearly 60 separate fermentations and aging lots—a painstaking process that results in some of South Africa’s most exciting and hardest-to-find wines.
All wines are native yeast fermented, go through natural malolactic fermentation, and use only neutral, mostly large wood (3,000L) + concrete eggs.
2024 Rall NOA Chenin Blanc, Swartland
Only 20 cases imported. Naturally fermented and matured in neutral French oak and concrete, then blended after 10 months to emphasize purity, texture, and vineyard expression. Coming from the Paardeberg Mountain range in western Swartland. Morning sun and heavy granitic soils create a linear, acid-driven Chenin that
